What is Up, KlicKNettars! The Wkly Hit List is back after two weeks off. It has been a busy month for all of us here at KlickNet, and it's gonna get even busier this weekend as we're in the middle of editing of brand new episode of FakeTV Box. So let's cut to the chase right now and get into the 5-Day Rounder, a lot is going on in the worlds of entertainment and sports, which means that we pick the perfect Friday to come back to our blog.
Before we get into our Inside Scoop this week, we have a new update on KlicKNet Productions' Indie Short Film, I am referring of course to Rhodey, NY (pronounced ROW-DEE, NEW YORK). We had intended to throw a Fundraiser Block Party at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York last month and this month, but sadly, not one person choose to RSVP. But then, we can to the realized that a Block Party in the middle of Autumn was just too ambitious, sometimes you gonna start small. So, the KlicKNet team is talks right now with our partner Lens.Rush to revamped our fundraising event into a Comedy Night Show, we're thinking about having people show up for a little open mic, as well as watch stand-up comedians, and Improv and Sketch actors perform on stage. We're due to have another conversation with Lens.Rush, so we'll have to get to it after we're done with this post.
Now on to our Inside Scoop, breaking news is coming outta Nickelodeon right now, in which Victorious is making a comeback with a spin-off series, Hollywood Arts starring Daniella Monet, who will reprise her role as Trina Vega, sister of Tori Vega. We actually reported on this story back in February and have monitoring any new updates that show up online, and now we've got one. The multi-camera sitcom is finally moving forward — but it's moving to a new home. While it was developed at Nickelodeon and got put on fast track in early 2025, it has been officially licensed to Netflix, which has ordered 26 episodes. Deadline reports that: "Hollywood Arts will premiere globally in 2026 before a second-window release on Nickelodeon and sibling Paramount+ (likely day and date). The sale to Netflix is believed to be a recent development after the August completion of the Skydance-Paramount merger, which resulted in the departure of longtime Nickelodeon chief Brian Robbins among other top executive exits."
Furthermore, the series will be headed by writers/showrunners Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin who have done work on other Nickelodeon shows like Victorious, Sam & Cat, Henry Danger and The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder. Casting on Hollywood Arts had been going on since February, and Nickelodeon has finally assembled the cast before the series premieres on Netflix. Daniella Monet is both the lead star and a executive producer, it includes Alyssa Miles (from Hanging out with Alyssa and Xavier on YouTube), Emmy Liu-Wang (from Raven’s Home on Disney Channel), Peyton Jackson (from Tyler Perry's Young Dylan), Erika Swayze (from Paramount Plus' School Spirits), and Martin Kamm (from the film Unsung Hero). Yvette Nicole Brown, who appeared in Victorious, Drake & Josh, and Community, is set to guest star on Hollywood Arts, which means we got a dose of Helen on the way.
Overall, I am very excited to see this new series unfold next year on Netflix, and hopefully on Nickelodeon later. We still don't if the other main stars from Victorious will make an appearance on Hollywood Arts, fans are clamoring to Victoria Justice play Tori Vega again, and Matt Bennett play Robbie Shapiro, and even Arianna Grande put that red wig of hers and play Cat Valentine one more time. Before we go, KlicKNettars should know by now that an iCarly movie is on the way soon from Miranda Cosgrove, after the revival series was cancelled after its third season on Paramount Plus two years ago. If there was ever a time period for some of Nickelodeon's most iconic shows to make a comeback for their fans, it'd be right now.
