We've been making a campaign video and it's almost ready and we're trying to setup a IndieGogo page which should launch very soon. I say this because we're going to need all hands on deck on this one, and I can tell you right now tha there's gonna be all hands on deck in a few weeks because we're gonna be celebrating 10 Years of KlicKNet which started on this very blog. Now it has made its way to almost every social media platforms, including YouTube and TikTok, in fact I already know how I wanna celebrate, more on that another time. For now, it's time for a brand new 7-Day Rounder, so get ready and get set.
We are so over the moon for this because we finished Part 3 of FakeTV On Deck: The Sequel, the ongoing multi-vlog series the KlicKNet’s YouTube channel. By the time you are reading this post, the new episode will either, still waiting to premiere, or it already has premiered. But you gotta see what we put together, nearly forty minutes of FakeTV having a day at Universal Orlando, in a year when the Resort not only opened its third theme park: Epic Universe, but is also celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Universal Studios Florida. It’s all right here in what is a BIGGER Vid of the Week.
Our Inside Scoop this week is about the breaking news outta Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. and the OG Disneyland Resort in California. Back at D23 in Anaheim last year, there were many announcements about many projects that are being constructed in Florida and California. One announcement that everyone’s talking about is Disney/Pixar’s Cars taking over Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom, we all know that this will mean Walt Disney World will remove major attractions that have been around since the ‘70s. Last Wednesday, Disney World gave an official date for when these attractions will leave to make room for the new Cars-themed area; the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat permanently close on July 7th, so guests will have until the Fourth of July weekend before it’s off to Defunctland for them.
Taking their place will be Piston Peak National Park, which according to the Disney Parks Blog: “Is inspired by the Rocky Mountain area and the history and iconic sights of the American Frontier and its national parks. Inside guests will be able to see and explore the visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more all set within the Disney and Pixar “Cars” universe.” Furthermore, Imagineers are using a style of architecture called “Parkitecture,” which was developed by the National Park Service [the ones who run Piston Peak National Park I guess] to create structures that harmonize with the natural environment. There will be trees to provide a natural barrier between the off-road rally and other parts of Frontierland and Liberty Square. Rugged mountains with dramatic peaks will be nestled along a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall and soaring geysers from the famed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will stretch into the trails of our off-road rally.”
Let’s not forget that in addition to this new experience, the first-ever Disney Villains-themed land is in development at Magic Kingdom and will be located beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Personally, it’s sad that the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat are leaving next month, I mean it makes no sense for them to leave at all as there is so much space outside of the Magic Kingdom. So many Disney Park fans have wanted to see all of these attractions remain where they are, it’s like people fighting to Save PBS from being defunded, and I’m one of those people, or like people fighting to Save Luna Park at Coney Island, NY from a casino. The difference is there’s a chance for PBS and Luna Park to be saved, but nobody tired to save the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat. On the other hand, you have Disney Park fans liking the new Cars Land in the Magic Kingdom because it has similar vibes to the attractions they are leaving and will utilize theme of Frontierland to create something special for park guests in Orlando.
Next up, we move over to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim where late last Thursday night, it seems like the OG is finally, FINALLY MOVING FORWARD. Disneyland was able to reveal its future expansion plans which include the resurrection of the Eastern Gateway project. If you remember, Disneyland has been trying for years to build a new parking structure, transportation hub, and pedestrian bridge on the east side of the resort, but it was canceled sometime in 2016. So now, the project has been revitalized and will include all of these things. The parking structure will be built on a portion of what is currently the Manchester cast member parking lot. The new area is set to provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and ride-share areas, security screening and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area. The transportation hub can be seen in the concept art down below, you can also see that there’s going to be new entrance sign to help bring back those old Disneyland memories from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. The most shocking detail of all is that construction on all of this it’s going to begin in Fall 2026, and it doesn’t look like any of small businesses surrounding the Eastern Gateway are going to object this time. A huge victory for Disneyland if you ask me.

But that is just the tip of the iceberg because Disneyland Resort announced the location for the new Coco themed area or attraction coming to Disney California Adventure. Some believe that this attraction would go into the site of Disneyland Forward on the west side of the resort because it was reported some years ago That they would use it for expansion pads for both Disneyland Park and DCA. But instead, the Coco attraction is going to be built near, or more like between Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, ‘cause as you can see from the picture down below, which we acquired from Mouskegamer on the site formerly known as Twitter, it will be where some of the backstage areas for DCA. This Coco attraction is going to be behind The Incredicoaster at Pixar Pixar and if you look at the size of the area, they could build a whole Coco Land there. I believe this new attraction is going to be a part of Pixar Pier as Coco is one of Pixar’s most popular franchises Other than Toy Story, The Incredibles, Inside Out, and Monsters Inc. Construction begins this Fall, and it’s possible that it could open in late 2026 or early 2027.

Elsewhere, the Avatar Destination that was announced at D23 last year, It’s going to take over the entire Backlot area of Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure. The sad part about it is that this will come at the cost of DCA losing Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue which will permanently close in early 2026, and then construction on Avatar will immediately follow afterwards. But the best part about this is that the Hyperion Theater will be safe, along with some other features of Hollywood Land. If you take a look at these pictures down below from Mouskegamer and Deep Dive Disney on Twitter, DCA is going be able to expand thanks in part to the transportation hub and production bridge which will be built beginning in Fall 2026. There’s a theory going on that this Avatar Experience is not going to be a part of Hollywood Land at all, it will be its own land instead, and maybe the resort will choose to renovate Hollywood Land, giving it in more modern and updated style than what it is now.

In closing, it’s amazing how Disney California Adventure is so fortunate by these new expansions, it will be able to add two new experiences within its existing park layout. Some people have noticed that no new expansions were announced for Disneyland Park on the other side, but keep in mind that everything we talked about is only Phase One of a multi-year transformation of Disneyland Resort which means that sometime later, the Anaheim Disneyland Park could get a new look itself. RyanTheme Park from the site formerly known as Twitter has gone to write this: “With Coco entrance being where the Parade gate is today blocks the entrance to the DCA portion of the Disneyland Forward expansion space. I 100% believe that the DCA and DL plots for expansion is for Disneyland's 3rd Theme Park and not for expansion of the existing parks.” I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose to go down that path, It makes no sense to use the Disneyland Forward space as expansion pads for the existing parks, merely because there’s a road right in the middle of them. We’ll see if anything new news will come from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort later this year, but it’s nice to see both resorts getting started on these constructions quickly as they had promised last year.
