It's Memorial Day Weekend and we're feeling very good not just for ourselves at KlicKNet, but for everyone else in the world, because some have started to graduate from school and some are having a blast at Opening Weekend for Universal Orlando's Epic Universe. There's tons of news that happened this week and we managed to find five that seems like the right ones to put in our 5-Day Rounder. So take a good look as you scroll down below and see what story interests you the most.
This weekend, we have offered three brand new episodes of FakeTV Box. The first one came out just yesterday on a Friday, it shows you KlicKNet's reaction to the official trailer of Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four: First Steps. Then, the second new episode which just came out today on a Saturday is our reaction to the trailer for Disney/Pixar's Elio, which is coming to theaters next month. Last but not least, the third new episode which comes out tomorrow on Sunday is our reaction to the first look at Marvel Television's Ironheart, a new MCU series streaming next month on Disney Plus with three big episodes. Have a blast and watch all of these on our KlicKnet YouTube channel all Memorial Day Weekend long. Of course, you can see two of them right now in this week's Sneak Peaks of the Week.
Our Inside Scoop this week concerns Marvel Studios, and look I'm not gonna try and say anything negative about them, but I might make fun of them in another way shape or form. This week, the company and Disney announced that Avengers: Doomsday will no longer be released on the first day of next May in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars will not come on May 7, 2027. Instead, both of those film will arrive during the Christmas Holiday season, so first Avengers: Doomsday is slated for December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars December 17, 2027. Some people will say that they're not surprised by this decision, they felt like it was coming anyway, and pushing movies to a later date nothing new for Marvel Studios as they've done it many times before in the past. Though we'd never seen it so often in Phases 1-3 which make up The Infinity Saga of the MCU, and with Phases 4-6 The Multiverse Saga has seen a lot of up and downs due to major shifts in release dates, production, and the creative process. It no secret that some projects in Phases 4 and 5 have succeeded and some have not, so now if you're Marvel Studios, you gotta be counting on the last phase of The Multiverse Saga to work out in your favor, you have Phase Six kicking off this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25, 2025 and nobody knows how well that's gonna do. But moving back to the changes for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, I think really cool they're going to be released in December as the last four Avengers were released just before the Summertime. Doomsday and Secret Wars will be the second and third films respectively to be released in December after Spider-Man: No Way Home. This new move by Marvel Studios has made me come up with five takeaways regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Takeaway #1. Not only has Disney and Marvel pushed Doomsday and Secret Wars from their May release dates, they have made other changes to the 2026 and 2027 Movie Calendar. There was supposed to be a untitled Marvel Studios film on February 13, 2026 but that has now been officially removed and it's for the best anyway as the company has not made any movies for that particular date. Furthermore, two other untitled Marvel Studios films that were dated for November 6, 2026, and November 5, 2027, have been retitled to become untitled Disney films instead, I think Disney should use dates for Original Movies, and by that I mean that Disney should come up with new ideas instead of using stuff that've already done before. I also wanna point that Marvel Studios still has an untitled film for July 23, 2027, which is right before Secret Wars. That is likely going to be used for film Doctor Strange 3, Black Panther 3, or Thor 5, I'd probably go with Doctor Strange 3 it's the perfect in-between event as we're likely going to venture in Battleworld at some point. Takeaway #2. Delaying Doomsday and Secret Wars will help both films creatively and when they're released, they will not feel liked they were rushed. Disney insiders have explained to Deadline that the delays gives Marvel extra time to execute its massive vision. As Phase Six will begin just weeks after Phase Five ended with Ironheart, Marvel Studios needs to make sure that they get everything right so that critics and audiences will both be satisfied with the conclusion of The Multiverse Saga. With the Russo Brothers directing Avengers 5 and 6, I can't imagine them both being so lackluster.
Takeaway #3. It seemed like Spider-Man: Brand New Day would be released in between Doomsday and Secret Wars, just like Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel were released in between Infinity War and Endgame, but that's not the case anymore. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still coming out on July 31, 2026 which is before December 18, 2026, so this will be the last film that Marvel Studios presents before Doomsday happens and that opens the door for new storylines for Tom Holland's character and we'll see him going back to his roots as a much more grounded character or should I say: "A Much More Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." Takeaway 4. Avengers: Doomsday joins a group of big movies that will be released in December of 2026, there's Jumanji 4 and Shrek 5, you can believe that I'm gonna see the next Jumanji film next year, though I'm not sure about the new Shrek yet. But even more interesting is that Avengers: Doomsday will be in theaters the same day as Dune: Messiah and Ice Age 6 (December 18). Without a doubt, this feels like Barbenheimer all over again, people will have the same about the new Superman and Fantastic Four films coming this summer, but this is totally different. Three major films from three major studios on the very same day is a really big deal, it makes you wonder either Ice Age 6 or Dune: Messiah will move to a later date. My hope is, Dune will stay and will Ice Age leaves, because they've already made the T-Shirts saying: "Dunesday." Last but not least, Takeaway #5. Avengers: Secret Wars will be released weeks after Disney presents Frozen III on November 23, 2027. Imagine if you're a kid, teenager, or adult, you just got done watching the next Adventure of Anna and Elsa during Thanksgiving Weekend, and then you look forward to seeing Secret Wars one week before Christmas. I also like to point out that The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be coming out on December 17, 2027, so we could have another Barbenheimer moment on that day.
It's amazing how the delays for both Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars affects not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but for the rest of Movie Industry as well. Hopefully this will be the last change Marvel Studios ever does and sticks with, for The Multiverse Saga is now set to come to an end simultaneously with 2027.
