Hello KlicKNettars. For this week's Wkly Hit List, we're going to give away not one, but two Inside Scoops talking about the first two episodes of Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again the Oscars from last week. When it comes to Daredevil, we're not gonna give away too much nor are we going to write big long discussion over what we witnessed when this sow began streaming this week on Disney Plus, so here's what you need to know. WARNING: This piece may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen Daredevil: Born Again Episodes One and Two yet, stop reading now. If you would like to continue at your risk, then be my guest.

The first episode basically picks up the original Daredevil series on Netflix picks up. Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page just wrapped up work, And so they decide to go to a bar and celebrate the retirement of they a good friend Detective Cherry. Now this Detective Cherry is very vocal when it comes to masked vigilantes like Daredevil, even telling he now former partner how he feels about them. Things soon change for Cherry, Matt, Foggy and Karen when we get to return of another character from the original Daredevil series in Benjamin Pointdexter aka Bullseye, and I gotta be straight with you, his backstory scares me to death. But let’s not get into all that, Dex is about to do the unthinkable and nobody saw it coming, he shoots down Foggy from point blank range, and even though Matt suits up as Daredevil and kicks the crap outta Bullseye in a good ol’ long take battle, it’s simply too late. Foggy dies and both Karen and Matt are devastated, for Matt, he is so angry that he throws Dex off the roof of the bar which doesn’t kill him anyway.

After Matt takes off his mask and Detective Cherry sees that he is Daredevil, we fast forward to one year later where Matt has retired from being daredevil and has opened up a new law firm with his new partner Former DA Kirsten McDuffie. Elsewhere, Karen has moved to San Francisco and Dex is sentenced to life in prison for his crimes. At this point, we see Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, for the first time since Echo. He is running for Mayor of New York City through an anti-vigilantism campaign, and after getting enough signatures and the support of his wife Vanessa, some people like his chances. Later, Matt has a sit down with Fisk at a local diner, and let’s not forget that Fisk knows that Matt is Daredevil, or at least was Daredevil. Fisk admits that he had nothing to do with the death of Foggy, but Matt is unsure that he has changed at all. So Matt warns Fisk not to step out of line or else, while Fisk delivers a similar warning to Matt, not to become Daredevil again. At the end of the episode, Matt is on a date with Heather Glenn when he learns that Fisk has won the election, and I didn’t expect him to win so early in the series.

Now in the second episode, we meet Hector Ayala who is also the vigilante known as the White Tiger. He finds a man by the name of Nicky Torres being beaten in the subway by two men, Shanahan and Powell, who claimed to be cops undercover. As the viewer, you can see that Ayala is trying to help Nicky when Shanahan trips and falls on to the subway train tracks before being killed by a moving train. Ayala is arrested after being accused of assault and murder, so Matt decides to represent him, and he is a little concerned about Ayala being White Tiger. Meanwhile, Mayor Wilson Fisk is having trouble in his first days in office, and through all this, we learned that BB from the news show “The BB Report” is actually the niece of Ben Urich who Fisk killed in the original Daredevil series. NYPD Commissioner Gallo is he aware of Fisk’s criminal activities from the past, and threatens to resign in protest of him becoming mayor, but Fisk is up to his old tricks and he threatens to expose some dirty secrets that Gallo has of his own.

At one point of the episode, Wilson and Vanessa attend couples’ therapy with Heather as their therapist, personally I think that Kingpin is desperate in trying to win the support and approval of all of New York City. Back to Matt now, he is pushing really, really hard to keep Hector out of jail and decides to track down Nicky Torres as he is the only witness who testimony can save Hector’s life. We learn a bit later that the two men, Shanahan and Powell, were corrupt police officers, and now Nicky is trying to make a run for it as other corrupt cops are coming for him. Matt helps Nicky escape from his apartment and confronts the corrupt officers himself. It all turns to a bloody mess when Matt is push over the edge and kill them, and the episode but to black with him screaming in a fit of rage. It just goes to show how devoted the team behind Daredevil Born Again have been to making this series a must watch event. After dealing with the Writers’ Strike, the Actor’ Strike, and a creative overhaul, it looks like they nailed down on a great idea which will eventually lead to a second season of Born Again sometime in the future.
Next up, we look back at Oscars from last week on ABC and Hulu by showing you how many winners we got right after making predictions last week. Anything that we got right is highlighted in green and boldface and with an asterisk (*) at the end, but for anything we got wrong, that prediction gets crossed out and highlighted in red and boldface while the real winner is highlighted in green and boldface and with an asterisk (*) at the end. Now as it turns out, we got half of the winners right last Sunday with 12 out of 23 correct predictions. Even though we have never seen the independent film Anora, somehow we were right that it would be the movie that wins big at the Oscars. Take a look down below at what we got wrong and so much more.
