This is the third weekend of 2025 and I feel like it's the most important weekend ever without explaining you why. As you know, KlicKNet is doing its best to move away from the results of 2024 presidential election and anything to do with politics for the rest of the year. We might not talk about politics and elections again until 2026 when the Midterms come around, assuming that there's going to be a Midterm Election next year. It's almost feels great to get that off my chest and KlicKNettars will happy to know that KlicKNet has a lot planned for the next few months with new episodes of FakeTV Box left and right, and so many other ideas that we wanna try, coming along the way. As always, we will tell you about those ideas when the time is right, for now we have a brand new 5-Day Rounder which ends with the news that everyone has been talking about for weeks.
After an exciting Wild Card Round in the NFL Playoffs last week, we are in the midst of the Divisional Round where the Houston Texans face the defending Super Bowl Champions Kanas City Chiefs today, while the Washington Commanders attempt to pull off the biggest upset when they go up against the Detroit Lions tonight. Then tomorrow, it's the Los Angeles Rams vs the Philadelphia Eagles; followed by the Main Event, the Battle of the MVPs between Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens and Josh Allen from the Buffalo Bills. To get the best Picks and Predictions about this weekend's games, catch a Sneak Peek of the Week brought to you by The Pat McAfee Show, it's so funny, it's not good for sports fans.
Our Inside Scoop this week concerns movies, but not the ones that make you go Ha Ha, I mean the ones that make you Scream. Rather than talk about how funny it is that the upcoming Inauguration in DC this Monday will take place indoors for the first time since the second inauguration of Ronald Reagan in 1985, we're going to discuss the fan-favorite Horror-Slasher franchise Scream which started back in 1996, the same year I was born; it's amazing how so many pop culture moments, television, and movies happened in 1996, the year brought us Blue's Clues, the NWO, and a movie about Twisters, just imagine if they had those Twisters Wind Tunnel Experiences from 2024, I'm not sure anyone in 1996 would be ready for that.

Anyway, the Scream franchise has been going on since 1996, there have been five sequels afterwards with each movie getting better than the last one, and a TV Series based on Scream which was on MTV and VH1 at the end of the 2010s, and if you're a dumb moron like me, you probably remember watching that show, we still don't know what became of Kira and her friends after they got off that murderous island, sadly we got that new season with RJ Cyler, Keke Palmer and Tyga which was in this journalist, "simply overrated." Everybody knows what Scream is about, a person or people running around killing others in a Ghostface mask, mostly Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Chad & Mindy Meeks-Martin, right now a new film is being shot known as Scream 7, directed by Kevin Williamson, who helped build the franchise with Wes Craven back in 1996. It will come out in theaters on February 27, 2026, a nice way to celebrate 30 Years of Ghostface, who knows if what we'll be doing until then, and also the film will star OG Scream cast members Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and Mason Gooding, although I'm not sure if we can call Mason Goooding an OG because he's been in only two movies thus far, but unlike David Arquette, he's a survivor. There's going to be new actors in this film such as Isabel May playing Sidney's daughter, followed by Celeste O'Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, and Anna Camp.

We got news this week regarding who's joining this star-studded cast this time, first off we know that we'll get to meet Sidney's husband for the first time. The only problem is, it will not be Detective Mark Kincaid played by Patrick Dempsey in Scream 3, instead Joel McHale is playing Sidney's husband Mark Evans. Lemme tell ya something right now, this sucks and yet somehow it some how doesn't make any sense, because in the fifth film of the franchise, Sidney is married to a man named Mark, which directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin later confirmed was in fact Mark Kincaid, he's even mentioned again in Scream VI. So either Tyler and Matt lied or there's a creative retooling going on, and believe it or not it's the latter. Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin had to leave the project in August 2023 due to scheduling conflicts with the film Abigail. Then it looked like Christopher Landon, who worked on Happy Death Day and Freaky, was going to direct Scream 7 but then we was let go, so now we have Kevin Williamson directing. Variety reported that the new film intents on bringing back other actors from the franchise, like Neve Campbell and Patrick Dempsey, and if that were true then Dempsey should have been announced already that he's going to be in Scream 7. But clearly things have changed and it looks like Dempsey will not be coming back at all.

I have nothing but respect for Joel McHale, he's a good actor who doing great right now, and who knows what he's gonna bring to the table in Scream 7. Now in more Scream news, Variety posted an exclusive online that Jasmin Savoy Brown would reprise her role from Scream 5 and Scream VI, which means only two things: we have not seen the last of the nephew and niece of Randy Meeks, and the "Core Four" is alive and well, or at least half of it is. If you remember on November 21, 2023, it was reported that Melissa Barrera was fired from the seventh film by Spyglass Media Group due to her comments about the war between Israel and Hamas, which could end after both sides agreed to a ceasefire deal this week. After Melissa was fired, Deadline Hollywood reported the following day that Jenna Ortega would not reprise her role in the franchise due to scheduling conflicts with the Netflix series Wednesday. But here's the thing, filming was scheduled to begin in last September and was then delayed until last month in December, and since filming for Wednesday just wrapped up last month, it's almost possible can they can seek in a little cameo for Jenna in Scream 7. People have been saying on social media that Spyglass Media Group should make amends with Melissa Barrera and let her star in the seventh film again, it's not easy doing to the right thing in situations like this, but Spyglass has the opportunity to make Scream 7 the G.S.O.A.T (the "GREATEST SCREAM OF ALL TIME!").
