I've ready said this before on social media, but I'm gonna say it one more time on this post. Happy New Year, KlicKNettars! We are in for a year of surprises in 2025, needless to say however, it's hardly been a "Happy New Year" so far. By now people know about the terrorist attack that occurred in New Orleans just hours into New Year's Day, it seems like there's a least one major tragedy in the United States every year and this is no different. In my own opinion, we should not let terror rule our lives, we must press forward and honor those who lives were lost in New Orleans any way that we can. The same can be said for another tragedy that is ongoing as we speak, but we'll talk about it later, as for now, let's take a look at the first 5-Day Rounder of 2025, which got itself a new color upgrade if you can believe it.
We can expect a lot of big movies coming in 2025, from Captain America: Brave New World to Elio to A Minecraft Movie to Thunderbolts* and to Final Destination: Bloodlines. Let's not also forget, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Lilo and Stitch, Karate Kid: Legends, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, Elio, the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon, M3GAN 2.0, Jurassic World Rebirth, A New Superman Movie, A New Smurfs Movie, and the Legacy sequel of I Know What You Did Last Summer. But that's not all, there's also The Fantastic Four: First Steps, The Bad Guys 2, Freakier Friday, The Conjuring: Last Rites, Saw XI, Tron: Ares, The Black Phone 2, Now You See Me 3, Wicked: For Good, Zootopia 2, Five Nights at Freddy's 2, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and last but not least The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. As hard as it may to believe, there's a movie coming out on February 7th that I'm interested in, it's called Heart Eyes – a rom-com slasher film starring Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding, along with Devon Sawa and Jordana Brewster. Watch the official trailer of this "heart-pounding" movie in our first Sneak Peek of the Week of 2025.
Our first Inside Scoop of the New Year is a really sad, detailing wildfires taking place in South California. The fires have been caused by very low humidity, dry conditions, and hurricane-force Santa Ana winds that exceed 80–100 miles per hour. Let's just put this way, California has been getting a lot of rain lately, New York a few months was dealing a water drought after weeks of not getting any rain water, but conditions now here in New York normal. Back in 2023, there wildfires in Canada that went on for about seven months, killed eight people, and had smoke that affected the Northeastern part of the United States. The current wildfires in California has so far killed ten people forced nearly 180,000 people to evacuate, and destroyed or damaged more than 13,400 structures; that includes houses owned by families and celebrities who live in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

At least 19 Los Angeles school districts have announced school closures due to the wildfires, Pepperdine University has closed its Calabasas and Malibu campuses. All schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District were closed this past Thursday as a result of fire conditions and the destruction of two elementary schools, that is really really sad, for the children who go there and the teachers and faculty that work there, and schools within Los Angeles areas will remain closed until conditions return to normal. Most of the damage has been done by two of largest fires in California: the Palisades Fire taking place in the Santa Monica Mountains and the Eaton Fire taking place in Altadena, California. Due to severe winds and fire danger, many major events in the Entertainment and Sports Industries have been postponed or cancelled; Amazon MGM Studios and Universal Pictures had to cancel their respective Hollywood premieres of Unstoppable and Wolf Man, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk were closed for up until Friday – which was just yesterday.

But it doesn't stop there, the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards cancelled its live announcement of nominees and had to put the list up in a press release, the 30th Annual Critics' Choice Awards were intended to be held on January 12 in Santa Monica but are now postponed to January 26, and the deadline for Oscar nominations voting was delayed for two days due to the fires. Hollywood entertainment headquarters and production centers have been shut down, postponing production of several shows and movies such as Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, Hacks, Ted Lasso, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, After Midnight, Fallout, On Call, and The Last Showgirl. In the Sports World, the NHL postponed at the Crypto.com Arena between the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames, the NBA postponed a between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets also at Crypto.com Aren, and the NFL moved the January 13 Wild Card playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings from SoFi Stadium to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

If you're on social media, and let's face it we all are, you've seen pictures like the ones you see you in this post, you can't imagine how devastating this has become. One of the pictures contains a house which still has some Christmas decorations hanging outside, and the fact that the Christmas Holidays were after these fires occurred makes it even more heart breaking, and I pray for the family who lived there. The fires has left many people homeless, and while fire fighters and paramedics have been on the scene every step of the way in hopes of putting an end to all this. Many different companies and local business in Los Angeles have banded together to off support, aid, and relief, unless of course they're all the same thing. Airbnb, Uber and Lyft happen to be one of the companies stepping in to offer immediate assistance to displaced residents, Airbnb announced it was working with 211 LA, a nonprofit organization that provides Los Angeles County residents with a variety of health, human and social services, to provide temporary housing free of charge to anyone who has been displaced by the fires.

For transportation to local shelters, Uber has offered complimentary rides, up to $40, using the promo code WILDFIRE25, while Lyft has provided their own promo code CAFIRERELIEF25, which is good for up to $25 for a ride to any local shelter. We've seen restaurants in the Los Angeles County free meals and a safe space to those who have been displaced, need electricity, or maybe even a first responder. Celebrities have encouraged people to help the victims of the fires by donating to places like the American Red Cross, the California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund, the Wildfire Recovery Fund, World Central Kitchen, Baby2Baby, the Mutual Aid LA Network, and the LA Regional Food Bank. To help school students, people can donate to the LAUSD Education Emergency Relief Fund, for first responders there's the LA Fire Department Foundation and the CA Fire Foundation. We've also learned there professionals who work in music and arts have also been affected, so we took the liberty of making a FTB 60 short video that tells KlicKNettars to donate to a nonprofit organization called "We Are Moving the Needle." which has put the Microgrants Wildfire Relief Fund to support “early and mid-career producers, engineers, and creators who have lost studio space or gear” in the wildfires.

Finally, I would like to say that I hope the people of Los Angeles who have lost their homes get through this when it's all set and done and I hope that the LAFD can put these fires out before they spread beyond Los Angeles. It's no secret that the New Year has been off to a rocky start, but let's hope that the fires in LA are not a sign that we need to prepare ourselves for what's to come later, and smart people are smart enough to know what I'm talking about. For now, let's Pray for the Victims of Los Angeles and see that they get all the help they need.
