Wkly Hit List, 7/23/2023

You might be wondering why I might have wrote this on a Sunday. I was caught up with my entire crew with making two new episodes of FakeTV Box on KlicKNet. However, these are going to be very different and it's all because I would like to find a way to support the Writers' and Actors' Guilds who deserve to get paid for all their hard work. KlicKNettars will find out how I'm going to support the writers and actors in tomorrow's new episode, you be amazed at how fast we made it. Moving on, this week's 5-Day Rounder is anything but great, at least not for a certain former US President who is orange.

The Bloodline Saga on WWE Friday Night SmackDown just got even more interesting. This past Friday, we learned how Roman Reigns and Jey Uso are going to duke it out for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam in Detroit. Call it "Tribal Chief" and it was the Elders' Idea, but for a better look at what went down, check out the Highlight of the Week.

Our Inside Scoop this continues our series of reviews of Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion starring Samuel L. Jackson on Disney Plus. Things are getting hotter and hotter and this Wednesday, we'll know how Gravik's uprising will end. But first, let's go over Episode 5. WARNING: This piece may contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen Secret Invasion Episode 5 yet, stop reading now. If you would like to continue at your risk, be my guest.

Nick Fury gets President Ritson to the hospital, where the doctors tell him to stay outside. While there, he sees a news report on TV in which eyewitnesses spotted Talos helping to save the President. Talos had always wanted to show the world how good the Skrulls could be; it also turns out that even with Talos out his way now, Gravik's plans are not where he needs to be, and that leads to Pagon questioning his leadership. Gravik lashes out and kills Pagon in front of the other rebel warriors who start to lose faith in Gravik for not killing Fury and his perceived deception towards them. Then after ordering for Varra's death, many of the rebels, including Beto, no longer trust Gravik, however they're going to wish they hadn't put their hands on him later.

Gravik calls Rhodey, secretly the Skrull Raava, who is on the way to the hospital. He tells Raava to keep President Ritson alive and inform him that the attack was by Russians with the help of Skrulls. He also tells Raava to reveal the location of New Skrullos to the President, provoking a U.S. military strike on Russian soil. Raava is shocked that Gravik would risk all Skrulls at New Skrullos, but Gravik says that he will use this potential strike as leverage against Fury, knowing that he cares about the Skrulls far too much. If this fails, then the Skrulls will all just have to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. I wonder if the Council of Skrulls have any idea what Gravik is doing and if they will ever confront him in the final episode.

Back at the hospital, Fury confronts Rhodey/Raava, but it is revealed that Rhodey/Raava leaked footage of Maria Hill's death, placing Fury on a global watchlist for supposedly killing her. Now the most wanted man on the planet, Fury has no choice but to leave the hospital, with "Rhodey" threatening to unleash the entire Secret Service on him if he ever gets near the President again. Quick note at where's Sonya Falsworth in all of this, she's in London where she meets her boss, Director Weatherby and outs him as a Skrull and before forcing him to reveal the location of Dr. Rosa Dalton, the scientist (aka another disguised Skrull) who's running Gravik's Super Skrull experiments. Falsworth has her men burn down Dalton's lab so her experiments can't go on any further. At New Skrullos, Beto leads a small group in mounting a mutiny against Gravik, but Gravik kills them all.

Fury later meets with G'iah, who reveals Gravik is looking for the "Harvest," wonder what's that all about? Keep reading, G'iah, tells Fury that she ran away from her father because she knew he would lose, but Fury argues that Talos didn't lose, he chose the path of struggle. Fury tells G'iah that she cannot let grief paralyze her, and reveals that Talos told him she's a Super Skrull now. Later at from Priscilla and Fury's home, G'iah and Priscilla hold a funeral for Talos before fending off an attack by Gravik's men. Rhodey/Raava shows President Ritson the location of New Skrullos and says that they need to destroy it, promising the support of the other NATO powers. While hesitant that a strike on Russian soil would mean the start of World War III, Ritson is convinced to do it anyway, by Rhodey/Raava saying that a Skrull invasion would mean the extinction of humanity.

Gravik calls Fury, offering him a deal while telling him the strike and says that it'll be called off if Fury brings him the Harvest, in person. So Fury catches a flight on a private jet to Finland, and the pilot turns out to be a surprise cameo from Black Widow's Rick Mason. Now we come to Finland, in which Falsworth is waiting for Fury and she takes him to a grave marked with his name which contains the "Harvest": a collection of DNA from almost every superhero who fought and spilled blood during the Battle of Earth against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Sonya asks him if he's really going to just hand it over to Gravik, and Fury gives a cryptic response as always before stepping inside a small building at the graveyard. Inside, he activates some secret boxes, retrieving one of his iconic leather suits, an eye patch, and a gun. He suits up and sets out to "finish this." We this where we come to the end of this week's recap; I gotta say I really loved everything that happened in this episode, now let's see if Secret Invasion can really deliver on a Final Episode this Wednesday on Disney+ that'll be talked about for years to come.
