Wkly Hit List, 1/22/2023

Well this is awkward, Wkly Hit List is back on Sunday for One Time Only. We've been falling behind to get this post finished, but at the same time we've been hard at work coming up with new ideas for KlicKNet's YouTube channel. One of which is an Untitled Short Series using the magic of YouTube Shorts which has helped us gain more viewers in only one week. New episodes of FakeTV Box are always in the works and we're getting closer to the FTB 100th Episode, it might come at the end of February or early in March. Either way, you will not want to miss it; and stick around 'cause right now we have a new 7-Day Rounder full of good news, bad news, sad news, and lame news.

Times are indeed changing, not just for KlicKNet in 2023, but for what's to come on The CW Network. With new owners and new bosses, there's no telling where this network's gonna go, we know that All American has been recently renewed for a sixth season, while The Flash is entering his ninth and final season. I'm looking forward to the return of Superman and Lois, in fact I'm having so much trouble waiting for its third season that I can't even wait to see Sneak Peek. Hey wait a minute, here's one right now for our Sneak Peek of the Week.

Superman & Lois Season 3 Trailer | The CW

Our Inside Scoop this week concerns American Football, a tag people use on YouTube to gain more viewers. Another fun fact, it's important to say American Football because when people hear it, the first that comes to mind for them is the ball colored brown and shaped like an oval, instead of the ball that's black & white and shaped like a cookie.

Anyway, at this moment the NFL Playoffs are going on and so fat the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles have advanced to Championship Sunday, the nickname NFL fans refer to about the Conference Championships. As some of you know, the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers have their shot to make it to the next round and move one step closer to Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona on February the 12th. But before fans get there, I thought I might give NFL fans a quick recap of what is going on now with the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

People like to root for the underdogs in sports, well the two biggest underdogs in the divisional round were the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants because they were going up against the #1 Seeds in their respective conference. In fact the gamblers have picked both the Chiefs and Eagles as the favorites for their respective Divisional Round game because they had better records in the regular season than the Jags and Giants, but most already knew that.

Lemme talk about some of the highlights from the Jags-Chiefs game yesterday, at first the Chiefs got the first touchdown of the game before the Jaguars tied it at seven before the end of the first quarter. Then, Chiefs starting Quarterback Patrick Mahomes missed most of the second quarter due to an ankle injury and was replaced with backup QB Chad Henne, who led a 98-yard touchdown drive. The score heading into halftime was 17-10 Chiefs and Mahomes return to the field after x-rays on his ankle came back negative. Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid decided to let his All-Pro quarterback go through with it and Mahomes finished with 195 passing yards and two touchdowns, the second capping a 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter. For the Jaguars, some will remember that they rallied from a 27-0 deficit to beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round. It seemed like they two great chances to make another rally back to win, but they screwed both of them up. The first came when Jags player Jamal Agnew had the ball pop loose inside the Chiefs 5 with about 5 1/2 minutes to go, and the second when Chiefs player Jaylen Watson made a leaping, one-handed interception near midfield. With that, Kansas City won 27-20 and earn a spot in what will be their fifth straight appearance in the AFC Championship Game.

As for the Giants-Eagles game last night, Giants fans may not wanna listen to this, but I have no problem reading it because I'm a Jets fan. Eagles starting Quarterback Jalen Hurts had injured his shoulder prior to this game, but that didn't stop him from helping his team to victory in Philly. When Jalen Hurts let it fly on his first pass attempt of the game, it was like he could do no harm afterwards, he threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score during a dominant first half which had the Eagles over the Giants 28-0. More highlights: Hurts aired out a pass and hit his teammate DeVonta Smith in stride for a 40-yard TD reception, and then got a 16-yard TD pass on a one-handed grab by Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. New York's offense did horrible in the first half, turning the ball over on downs on the Giants' first possession, and Giants QB Daniel Jones was intercepted by the Eagles' James Bradberry on their second possession. The only points Big Blue could get was in the third quarter when Giants running back Matt Breida picked up a 8 Yard Rush touchdown. In the end, the Eagles finished with the score being 38-7, they had 268 yards on the ground all game and Hurts finished 16 of 24 for 154 yards.

So now we come the next two Divisional Round Games, Bengals-Bills and Cowboys-Niners, which will determine who will face the #1 Seeded Teams in the Conference Championships next Sunday. Things in the AFC is a bit of interest to me because do to the shocking injury to Damar Hamlin that caused the Bengals-Bills game on Monday Night Football to be canceled, we see the AFC Championship Game played on a neutral site. If the Bengals win today, it will be Bengals-Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium; if the Bills win, they will face the Chiefs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Whoever wins between Dallas and San Francisco will have no choice but to go to Lincoln Financial Field and face the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Overall, they're going to be both fun matchups to watch as it's now a who's who on who will make it to the Super Bowl in Arizona next month.
