Wkly Hit List, 12/17/2022

Ok, we're back folks. It's been a while since we last talked to each other but this is a time for a celebration. On December 13, 2022, our KlicKNet YouTube channel would reach up to 50 subscribers before the end of year. I told myself I did not want 2022 to end unless I reached that 50 mark, and I know it seems like a small number but it's one I'm most proud of. The channel has been up for two years and it's slowly finding its footing in the world of YouTube, we have a long way to go to get to 100, then 1,000, and maybe someday 10,000. With the uncertain years ahead of me, anything is now possible. So let's celebrate getting to 50 subs with the return of the Wkly Hit List, starting with an all-new 7-Day Rounder.

Since I've been planning a Wkly Hit List return this week, I've been looking at all the latest news all while deciding which ones will end up on the rounder. There was a report about some guy and his mom switching from Verizon to Spectrum after not having any service for 12 hours, I wonder if they're okay? But on a lighter note, we finally got confirmation about when Super Nintendo World will be opening at Universal Studios Hollywood, and it will be on February 17, 2023, the same day that Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is released in theaters. You know I hear they're celebrating a lot of birthdays in February, so they should probably hop on a plane, fly to Hollywood and spend all day at Super Nintendo World and catch the newest Marvel movie later at night. To see what Hollywood's Super Nintendo World has to offer, here comes our Sneak Peek of the Week.

A new way to play. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ opens 2/17/2023

Our Inside Scoop this week concerns the growing problems of DC Studios, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. You thought the cancellations of so many DCTV Shows on The CW was a complete shock, you thought the thought of Young Justice not getting renewed was a stunner, you even thought the cancellations of The Wonder Twins and my darling Batgirl was shocking enough, but this week alone certainly takes the cake.

New Logo?

Peter Safran and Longtime Marvel Director James Gunn had just been named co-CEOs and co-Chairmen of DC Studios. Afterwards they made this statement: "Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of the DC stable of characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonder of human possibility these characters represent. We're excited to...tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, and grandest stories ever told." To me, I thought it meant that they were going to continue to tell the stories that started with Zack Synder's Man of Steel in 2013, and led up to Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, Black Adam, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, and of course the Justice League. But it looks like that's not really gonna happen.

So Long Cavill.

This week, James Gunn took to social media and said that Henry Cavill would no longer return as Superman in any future projects; he also announced that he was writing a new Superman film, based on a younger version of the character. This was after Cavill announced that he would be back to playing Superman, starting with his cameo in Black Adam which didn't do so well at box office as I've heard. There's also been things going on like the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 and the possibility that Gal Gadot will no longer play the Amazon Warriors Princess. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom might be the last time we see Jason Momoa play Aquaman, The Flash starring Ezra miller has two major cameos cut from the movie, and god knows what's gonna happen after Shazam 2 and Blue Beetle are released.

Goodbye Gal?

Gunn and Safran are currently working on a 10-year plan with DC Studios but also stated that they would acknowledge fan responses and complaints, and confirmed all current and future  projects would be released under the DC Studios banner. In fact Gunn has asked fans via social media which DC characters they would like to see a part of the franchise in the future. Well, it looks like the DCEU, now called the DCU, is gonna have a big reboot on its hands, we could see a lot recasting with not Superman, but with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and likely another new Batman. James Gunn has gone on social media to say that: "him and Peter Safran have a DC slate ready to go, which we [they] couldn’t be more over-the-moon about; we’ll [they'll] be able to share some exciting information about the first projects at the beginning of the new year."

The New Era.

We'll see what DC Studios' New Movie Slate is going to be maybe in January 2023 which is soon to be right around the corner, and it will probably start after Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have all been released. To me they represent the old era, or the era that never was for the DCEU, but I'm glad they're taking the E out of it and call it the DCU from now on, although the DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe) would have be way cooler.
