Wkly Hit List, 11/19/2022

Sometimes things are looking up for some people like for me, but sometimes they're aren't. I've had so much on my plate this week that I've have to postponed the next Wkly Hit List livestream to next week, and I'm really going to have my hands full the week after that. Or should I say, Kwame, the Creator of everything KlicKNet is gonna be busy shooting the Brooklyn College thesis film, NickCam, on December 3rd and 4th. Pre-production has been somewhat difficult with finding a few more crew members and the props in time before shooting day, but I won't discuss anything else, the last thing I want is for KlicKNettars to worry about anything. Something they should be worried is who controls what chamber in congress after the 2022 Midterm Elections, it's all detailed here in this week's 7-Day Rounder.

Our Inside Scoop this week is about Twitter, one of the many social media platforms we use to bring you KlicKNet so we won't feel disconnected. Look, if you haven't been following the news then listen this, Elon Musk has been in charge of Twitter for a few weeks after buying the company for $44 Billion dollars. Some people suggested that this acquisition would more harm than good and they weren't kidding, and I fear things just got worse this week.

But before we get into that listen to this, on November 4, Twitter laid off about half of its 7,500 employees, leaving several internal departments, including communication and core engineering teams understaffed. Some of them were later asked to return, with Twitter claiming that they were "laid off by mistake". Several current and former Twitter employees sued the company for violations of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 due to failures to provide a 60-day notice prior to mass firings. Furthermore, security, compliance, content moderation, and sales executives resigned due to Musk stating that employees must either work longer hours or resign from the company. That's just sounds ridiculous, this guy makes me wanna punch a wall, though with the muscles I have, my whole arm would come off.

Now we come to last Wednesday where Musk issued an "ultimatum" to all remaining Twitter employees warning that workers could expect "long, intense hours of work" if they decided to stay, a decision that was ordered to be made by the following day, with news sources reporting numerous employees leaving on the same day. This has only increased fears of Twitter shutting down forever, leading to people going on Twitter writing hashtags such as #RIPTwitter, they're even writing what could be the last tweets they'll ever make.

People like me who have a brand does their own content use Twitter to reach out to people on Twitter so we can tell when our next blog posts, news article, video or livestream is coming. We all want to engage with new followers with whatever we come up with, but with the uncertain future of Twitter we have gone on to tell people that they can always follows on other social media platforms who were shut down anytime soon such as Instagram and Facebook.

I already spoken on Twitter yesterday about the situation so if anything goes wrong, at least I told people where else they can find KlicKNet. But like the drama in my family, I hope the drama with Twitter will be OK and the company will last for years to come, and if you think I am crazy to say that then that's fine, I don't care but it's my right to speak what's on my mind and share my opinions with the world. By the way, Elon Musk looks a little like John Barrowman from Arrow for some reason, am I the only one who notice that?
