Our Inside Scoop this week is going to discuss three stories all centered around the World of DC Comics, currently owned by Warner Bros. Discovery who will ever be ashamed for canceling Batgirl, she was so young, and I wanted to love her. Anyway, the three DC Stories which are not in order they broke out this week are:

The new ‘Green Lantern’ Series is now being redeveloped, I think for the second or third time now. Long-time Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti is now faced with a creative overhaul after writer and show runner Seth Grahame-Smith chose to depart the series this week after completing scripts for a full season of eight episodes. It appears he chose to leave the project after weathering a number of regime changes at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Discovery, Warner Bros. Television, and now DC Comics. The superhero series was originally going to have Guy Gardner and Alan Scott whom Finn Wittrock and Jeremy Irvine were already cast to play, but now it will pivot to star John Stewart, and played by whoever they chose to cast.

The second stories from DC is with Henry Cavill, who took to social media this week and confirmed that he's back to playing Superman again. The actor wrote to his fans, “I wanted to make it official: I am back as Superman…Thank you for your support and thank you for your patience. I promise it will be rewarded.” There's more, he also said: “The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope,” Cavill told the audience: “It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman.” I don't wanna give any spoilers to anyone or myself, but in case you haven't heard Cavill was just in a cameo in Black Adam, boy do I ever need to see that darn movie.

Finally, the World of DC Comics have not one, but two new Overlords, and they're just what The WB Doctor ordered. Guardians of the Galaxy Director James Gunn and Aquaman producer Peter Safran have been tapped to lead DC’s film, TV and animation efforts as co-chairmen and co-CEOs of the newly renamed 'DC Studios.' Warner Bros. has been looking for their own “Kevin Feige” to oversee their DC Comics film and TV properties since this past summer, and now that search finally ended this week with a somewhat surprising choice. The way it works is that Gunn will focus on the creative side of things, while Safran will focus on the business and production side. They will report directly to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and work closely with Warners Bros. Pictures bosses Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, but they're both expected to continue to direct and produce projects, respectively.

Despite the fact that their deal will runs for four years, WB wants them to truly function as executives as James Gunn will be focus on making movies and he is now exclusive to DC, meaning that after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James' days in the MCU will come to an end. I look forward to what Gunn and Safran have planned for the DCU (for formerly called the DCEU), and with Henry Cavill back as the Man of Steel, it's gonna be a wild ride.
