Wkly Hit List, 10/15/2022

Tough times seem to be ahead as we are now in the fall season. I saw a tweet on twitter saying that Halloween is not just a one day holiday, it has taken over October as a month-long season. I plan on watching Halloween Ends later on because, well, gotta complete the trilogy despite what the critics might think of it. Do I plan on dressing up in a costume on Halloween this year? Well it's in the works somewhere, just as the film project "NickCam" is still in the works. Kwame, the creator has been stuck in the "In Development" phase, but that should get done soon and then it's pre-production mode. Also, there's going to be a big announcement on the next new episode of FakeTV Box, it's an announcement that you'll wanna hear, so stay tuned. Right now, it's time for a brand new 7-Day Rounder with some really good news and some really bad news.

You know how hard it is to find a new video previewing a new Film or TV project every week, we'll this week I didn't have to look far. For our Sneak Peek of the Week, we take a close look into Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming to theaters November 11th. Hear from the cast and crew and Director Ryan Coogler who shared their stories about the making of the movie in this one video.

Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever | Return to Wakanda

Our Inside Scoop this week is something I wish we could have talked about had Wkly Hit List come back on the first day of October. On September 29th, Comedian Trevor Noah announced that he would end his run as host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central after seven years. then, we got word this past week that Trevor's Final Night on the show will be on December 8th of this year. Wow, I kinda thought he would stay on until 2023 next year, but it seems like we're gonna have to say good sooner rather than later. Isn't it so sad when people you love say that they're moving on, it's hard enough to even accept it, but you think at least they'll still be with you for a long period of time, and then all of a sudden, you learn the move is going to happen much quickly than you ever could have imagine.

Before the shocking reveal of Trevor leaving, The Daily Show announced it would be heading to Atlanta, Georgia for week-long Midterm Election episodes starting on Halloween Night, Monday, October 31st. You know, I keep asking myself "Why does everybody wanna go to Georgia? Why?" Is it because their sports teams are better than New York's, is it because the Braves are better than Mets, maybe I need remind you that the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL, moved to Canada and changed their names to the Winnipeg Jets, and the Atlanta Falcons shot themselves in the foot when they couldn't hold on to a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.

Moving back to The Daily Show, it has not been confirmed if the show will be LIVE on Election Night as it has done years before, these Midterm Elections are by far the most important of them all. On his final week of the show, Trevor will get to look back at his tenure on the series. According to Variety: "Comedy Central will place the show on hiatus after Noah’s farewell, and plans to bring it back on January 17th as part of what the network called a “reinvention.” Comedy Central did not name a successor for Trevor Noah, but is believed to be considering some of the show’s correspondents as part of its deliberations."

If I could make a prediction, my money's on Michael Kosta, or maybe Desi Lydic, I could see Roy Wood Jr. easily the best choice to take over the show, and then there's Ronny Chieng and DulcĂ© Sloan. They all sound great to me but let's hope that if one of them is chosen, they do not go through the same anonymity that Trevor went through he was picked to take over the program from Jon Stewart in 2015. It's going to real interesting to see what's gonna happen in the next few months, and no matter what, the most loyal people like me have to keep watching if they want all the best jokes about the news from a late-night institute that has gone on for well over 25 years.
