Wkly Hit List, 7/5/2022

Happy Tuesday, folks! Hope that every KlicKNettars had a really fun 4th of July yesterday, and now we're back for a new month and a new step in the direction of KlicKNet. If you would have told me eight years ago that KlicKNet was going to continue to grow, grow, grow from a simple blog into my own brand, I may or may not have believe it. If you would have told me eight years from that KlicKNet would have its own Twitter Account and become a YouTube channel, I never would have believe it, but we made it possible together. Now, would I consider giving KlicKNet its own Instagram account, and maybe even a Facebook page, well I say that one of those is going to happen and the brand needs to separate itself from my personal accounts. So stay tuned, because KlicKNet will have an exclusive page on Facebook later this Summer, for now, it's time for the all-new 7-Day Round-Up, restructured for our livestream every Tuesday.

As you may not remember, I was considering having Wkly Hit List on the KlicKNet channel on the weekends, Saturday or Sunday. I still have plans in the works to do that, perhaps starting next year, but for now Tuesdays will have to do just fine. Elsewhere, the hit series Motherland: Fort Salem is in the midst of its third and final season on Freeform. Fans of the show can see what's in stored for the next brand new episode with not 1, but 2 Sneak Peeks of the Week.

Moving on, our Inside Scoop this week is on the January 6th Hearings, were going to learn ten things from last month's hearings, including what happened last Tuesday's bombshell revelations. This information is brought you by an article from The Hill, according to them, the hearings revealed that "Former President Trump ignored the advice of aides in prematurely claiming victory." As we all know, Former President Trump would rant on and on how he could only lose on Election due to fraud, which was not true. Nor was the fact that he won on Election, yet Trump jumped into action and claim victory. His campaign aides warned him against doing this and as projected wins for President Biden in swing states made it almost impossible for Trump to win the race. Even more concerning, other aides stepped forward to say the campaign was unable to find any evidence of widespread voter fraud, despite Trump’s claims. The second thing to know about hearings was that "Some in Trump’s orbit, including Ivanka, “accepted” that there was no voter fraud." Evidence shown that Ivanka Trump said she knew her father had lost the election and believed William Barr’s conclusion that there was no widespread voter fraud.

Third thing to know is "Rudy Giuliani acknowledged lack of evidence,” even after William Barr dismissed the idea of voter fraud and informed his president he couldn't find such evidence, many Trump associates would keep forwarding Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud. But then, Rudy Giuliani and other campaign lawyers failed to provide the evidence they said they had of widespread voting fraud, and Giuliani eventually acknowledged the underlying issue. Fourth thing to know is that "a Legal architect acknowledged basis to unwind election was bankrupt," what this means is Trump campaign attorney John Eastman would craft a memo encouraging Vice President Mike Pence to buck his ceremonial duty to certify the election results, but he evidently had doubts about the legality of the plan. During the hearings, it revealed that Eastman's plan would violate several provisions of the Electoral Count Act, and Eastman himself would eventually acknowledged this and said he wouldn’t approve of Vice President Harris making the same move.

We come to the fifth thing to know from the hearings is how "the Trump team saw a benefit to work with outsiders." I don'y quite understand what that means but Trump hired Jeffrey Clark as attorney general because he was willing to send a letter to Georgia and other states asking that they stall certification of their election results so that the Justice Department could investigate baseless claims of voter fraud. Seems like our former President could not accept defeat like a man just yet. Now we come to the sixth thing on the list, "Trump knew there were weapons in the crowd of his rally on January 6." This is where it gets juicy, more specifically, this where Cassidy Hutchinson - the special assistant to Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows - comes in. She said White House officials knew as early as 10 a.m. on Jan. 6 that Trump supporters had knives, guns, bear spray, body armor and spears attached to the ends of flagpoles. According to texts, Trump was evidently furious the mags were evidently limiting his crowd size as many protesters with weapons elected to watch the speech from outside the screened area, so their arms wouldn’t be confiscated. Hutchinson recalled Trump saying: "They’re not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the effing mags away.”

The seventh thing is that "White House lawyers were worried about legal exposure of Trump’s speech and march plans." Trump used his speech to encourage his supporters to march to the Capitol, and a few days before it and the attack, White House counsel Pat Cipollone told Hutchinson he was worried that if Trump was seen marching to the Capitol. it could appear he was trying to incite a riot, obstruct justice, or defraud the electoral count. Hutchinson would relay to the Jan. 6 committee message told to her by Cipollone that morning: “We’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable if we make that movement happen.” Some of you are probably wishing right now that Trump was at that attack like he promised his supporters. Continuing with the eighth thing to know from the hearings, "Trump thought Pence ‘deserved it,’ AND he didn’t want to take action on Jan. 6." Hutchinson said that shortly after rioters entered the Capitol, Cipollone burst into Meadows’s office and Meadows told him: "He [Trump] doesn’t want to do anything." Cipollone said back to Meadows that "Something needs to be done or people are going to die and the blood is going to be on your effing hands.” Minutes after the news of rioters chatting “hang Mike Pence,” Cipollone told the chief of staff they needed to do more. But Meadows would say: “You heard him, Pat. He [Trump] thinks Mike deserves it. He doesn’t think they’re doing anything wrong.”

The ninth thing to know from the hearings was when "Numerous lawmakers and Trump associates asked for pardons in connection with Jan. 6." From the length of this list of people, so many were involved in the insurrection. Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Mo Brooks, Louie Gohmert, Andy Biggs, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Scott Perry, even Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani. Finally, the tenth and final thing we've learned from the hearings was when "Witnesses received messages apparently seeking to influence their testimony." The committee displayed various intimidating messages sent to those testifying, specially Hutchinson. One witness was told they would stay in good graces in Trump World if they “protect[ed] who I need to protect” and stayed on the “right team.” Another one said: “He wants me to let you know he’s thinking about you. He knows you’re loyal and you’re going to do the right thing when you go in for your deposition.” So there you have it, everything we've learned from the six public hearings surrounding the January 6th Capitol Attack, there will be two more coming this month in July, and they could be even more damaging than we've already seen.
