Wkly Hit List, 7/19/2022

I've been having a great summer so far for my character and me. I've been to the Poconos in Pennsylvania, I've been to Splish Splash, and I got a B+ in Italian 1010 through an online class at Brooklyn College. My character, the host of FakeTV Box and Wkly Hit List has been vacationing in Italy which means he'll have plenty time to learn how to speak Italian while I have only learned for five weeks. Now that summer school is over, I would say that the real me is officially on summer vacation, though I'm still writing for KlicKNet everywhere, including this blog, and lemme just tell people to think of it more of an official website than a blog, hence in the tagline on the front of the page. I've also been writing for the KlicKNet YouTube channel and handling KlicKNet's upcoming Facebook page later on. More importantly, I'm mapping out my plans for school this fall season and for when it's time to shoot a thesis film project of mine, I want to have everything ready before the first day of classes. At the same time that I'm doing all that, I will continue to bring you KlicKNettars your Wkly Hit List every week including a new 7-Day Round-Up like this one down below.

The Round-Up has never looked this hot with so much interesting news over the past week, and things have gotten a lot better in places like Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. This past weekend, the park opened its newest roller coaster called "Wonder Woman Flight of Courage," created by Rocky Mountain Construction, the company behind I-Box track and Topper Track for wooden roller coasters such as New Texas Giant, Outlaw Run, Iron Rattler, Goliath, Lightning Rod, Twisted Colossus, Steel Vengeance, Wicked Cyclone, Twisted Timbers, Iron Gwazi, the list goes on and on and on. RMC is also behind Raptor Track which means there's only one rail on the roller coaster. There's already a Wonder Woman-themed raptor track ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas called the Golden Lasso Coaster, but we're here to discuss what critics are calling "the World's Longest and Tallest Single-Rail Roller Coaster." Six Flags sure does love breaking record with every new ride every single year and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is no different. For those who haven't seen it or ride on it yet, here's a special Sneak Peek of the Week as Theme Park Obsession takes us through the coaster from start to finish.

Our Inside Scoop this week concerns some shocking new revelations about the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last May. Nineteen students and two teachers died at the hands of an 18-year-old whose main objective was to take away the lives of innocent young children and make they'll never have a future like their fellow classmate who were lucky enough to survive. After the school shooting, US Congress was finally able to do something to try and limit the amount of gun violence in this country by passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act which President Joe Biden signed later into law; making it the most significant federal gun reform legislation in almost 30 years. FakeTV Box had recently done an episode talking about the bill and KlicKNettars can watch down below if they're interested.

Before & After: Bipartisan Safer Communities Act - FakeTV Box - Jul 11, 2022

As for the new revelations we talked about earlier on, the Texas Tribune was the first to report it. A preliminary investigative report was released by a Texas House committee on the shooting and found that no one was able to stop the massacre because of “systemic failures” and “egregious poor decision making” by people in positions of power. It's been pretty clear that law enforcement in Uvalde has been criticized for their actions in response to the shooting, and their conduct has been reviewed in multiple investigations by the Texas Ranger Division and the United States Department of Justice. Even Texas Governor Greg Abbott called for an investigation into the lack of action by incident commanders. Previously mentioned before release of this new report, police officers waited 78 minutes on-site before breaching the classrooms to engage the shooter, and also cordoned off the school grounds, resulting in violent conflicts between police and civilians, including parents, who were attempting to enter the school to rescue children.

There is a multitude of problems that allowed the shooter to commit his violent act found in the outlines of this 77-page reports; described as a series of "shortcomings and failures of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District and of various agencies and officers of law enforcement." The Washington Post has looked into the new report like every other media outlet and made six takeaways which are important to know, in reverse order, #6 The gunman, whose name will not be mentioned, offered ominous hints about his plans, but no one told the authorities before it was too late. #5 The gunman had a troubled life with his family, aside from mental instability and violent tendencies, he was driven by a "desire for notoriety and fame." #4 Cops treated the gunman as "barricaded suspect," even as they learned of 911 calls from an injured student inside the school.

#3 An officer requested permission to fire on someone he thought was the gunman, because he was dressed in black and running away from the school. But it later turned out to be a school coach was trying to rush kids to safety away from the school. Just imagine if the cop who saw him were to fire on this man, it would have pure chaos and a wrongful death in the end. #2 Kids were in the playground area as the gunman opened fire at the school. Another school coach, who is a female, saw him jumping the fence with his weapon and she called out to the kids to "get down." She radioed the front office to warn people inside about the gunman, but there was no lockdown announcement right away, not even on the school intercom, this was due to "bad wi-fi" and poor mobile coverage interfering with the process of word getting out, no one received even a notification or alert on their mobile devices about what was taking place. #1 There was a robust police response, but no leadership. Almost every officer from the school district, Uvalde PD, Border Portal, Texas Sate Troopers responded to reports of shots fired near the school. However, due to school district police chief Pedro Arredondo "responding as police officer and the one not in charge," there was a lot of confusion among the other cops who questioned what on Earth they were supposed to do. While Arredondo has been to blame for delaying the apprehension of the shooter with his missteps, it was every cops' fault for being at the scene and not doing anything right away. You can see this happening through body-cam videos provided to us by Inside Edition and KHOU 11 News, please be aware, the images or videos related to the story are very graphic and sensitive to many viewers.

Body camera footage shows chaotic law enforcement
response in Uvalde school shooting

My decision to put these videos in this post and air them on a livestream is a conflicting move on my part knowing how hard I try not to add anything so graphic and violent to the content I make for my YouTube Channel. On the other hand, my decision couldn't more disturbing than what we just learned; some have called it "undetermined" whether a faster or more competent response could have saved lives in the face of a gunman who was bent on firing at the unarmed with a high-powered assault rifle. I say, it was a "now or never" situation and those cops should have just acted quickly the minute they got into the school building. At least one of them could of had enough brains to realize that they had to stand up and take lead before more kids get shot and end up dead. With that, we can close the book on this scoop for now.
