We've got the Inside Scoop on the hearings of the devastating January 6th attack on the US Capitol. Last Thursday was the first of five hearings in which the US House committee investigating the attack from 2021 would detail how former President Donald Trump attempted to overturn a free and fair democratic election by promoting a seven-part conspiracy. I watched some of the hearing last Thursday, only to switch to sports on TV, however I understand how important this must have been to some people.

The chairman of the committee, Bennie Thompson, claimed that "Jan. 6 was the culmination of an attempted coup, a brazen attempt, as one rioter put it shortly after Jan. 6, to overthrow the government ... The violence was no accident. It represents Trump’s last stand, most desperate chance to halt the transfer of power.” US Representative Liz Cheney was there too and she had a few words to say herself.

The Committee would go on by saying that "Trump lied to the American people, ignored all evidence refuting his false fraud claims, pressured state and federal officials to throw out election results favoring his challenger, encouraged a violent mob to storm the Capitol and even signaled support for the execution of his own vice president." The people who were involved in a Trump were former Attorney General Bill Barr, Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, and Trump's on-in-law Jared Kushner. Jared had the most interesting testimony which caught people's attention.

During the first hearing, new video showed never before seen footage of the Capitol attack by the public, of the mob charging the Capitol and battling police. It was amazing to see how violent the rampage on that day of January 6th. I still remember seeing it LIVE on TV and thinking how sad and embarrass it much have been for the US and for the rest of the world. The chants of "Hang Mike Pence," still haunts of a lot of people and it seems like there more to them, the first hearing revealed  that Trump encourage it while trying to deny that he didn't.

As you can see from the final image above, thousands from Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol and broke in through the windows and doors. However, the worst is yet to come for the second hearings will feature pictures of Mike Pence who was feeling the most pressure on January 6th. We'll also hear the testimony of Chris Stirewalt, a former Fox News politics editor who was fired by Fox News in January 2021 for defending the "journalistic" choice of Fox News Channel to declare President Biden as having won Arizona in the 2020 election. Most of all, we will know how “Trump engaged in a massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information” despite the fact that he knew that he had lost the election.
