This Week's UPDATES
I fell like it's going to be real modest this week, I'm looking forward to the start of the Spring 2022 semester at Brooklyn College. While it does start on Friday, January 28th, my first classes is on Monday, January 31st, and it looks more than likely that most of them will be in-person on campus, which means I'm gonna have to pay a round trip to Brooklyn on the LIRR twice a week for the whole semester for the next four months. Meanwhile, we have a brand new 7-Day Round-Up today with no news about COVID-19 or the pandemic, that's extremely rare, isn't it?
Our Main Story today is about Football, you know, America's second favorite pass time. Did anyone see those Divisional Round games yesterday, there weren't just one, but two shocking upsets where both #1 Seeded teams in the AFC and NFC went down hard. Most people picked the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers to win those games, but the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers had other plans. The Bengals' starting QB Joe Burrow was sacked nine time and set the record for the most sacks ever received by a winning quarterback in an NFL playoff game. In the end, Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson's interception with 20 seconds left in the game set up kicker Evan McPherson for a 52-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to give Cincinnati their first road playoff win in franchise history. As for the Niners-Packers game, it was 7-0 heading into halftime, the Packers score only one touchdown in the first quarter. They turned the ball less times than the Niners did and they had a blocked field goal in the final seconds of the second quarter. The Niners' offense was equally terrible for a they scored a field goal in the third quarter, but it was their defense that helped towards the end of the game, they blocked a punt and scored a touchdown in Packers territory. Now it was tied 10-10, the Packers failed to get any points in their final possession, allowing 49ers kicker Robbie Gould to kick a 45-yard field-goal to claim a stunning comeback of 13-10 for his team. We've got two more Divisional Round games today and they are going to be more competitive than what we saw yesterday, but let's not forget that we have other games today which are all listed in a brand new Max Sports rundown.
Our Main Story continues with the celebration of the Cincinnati Bengals going to the AFC Championship and the San Francisco 49ers going to the NFC Championship. Everyone is still in shock that there two stunning NFL playoff upsets thanks to last-second field-goals and that both #1 Seeds in each conference have been eliminated from the NFL Playoffs despite having a first-round bye. The Bengals will visit either the Buffalo Bills or the Kansas City Chiefs, while the 49ers will travel to either the Los Angeles Rams or Tampa Bay Buccaneers next weekend. I don't know who I think the Bengals should play and I can't tell you who I want the 49ers to play, but I'm looking to forward to the last two games in the Divisional Round. Until then, relive yesterday's games and hear from coaches and players in postgame conference about what they felt in a brand new Web Choice playlist.
