This Week's UPDATES
I'm hot, does anyone else feel hot? I'll tell you why I'm feeling today right after the KlicKNet readers scroll down to this week's 7-Day Round-Up which is absolutely filled with hard-hitting and BREAKING NEWS.
Our Main Topic this week is about Wrestling, and you know what means, we're goin to talk about WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been up to this weekend. Let's start with AEW Rampage: The First Dance, a LIVE television special from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois last Friday night, the event was considered to be AEW's largest attended event since the company's inception in 2019, but that could all change when AEW Dynamite comes to my hometown Queens, New York for Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. What makes The First Dance so special you might ask, well it was a night to remember, that because it was highly marked for the highly anticipated professional wrestling return of CM Punk, who had not wrestled since the WWE Royal Rumble on January 26, 2014. The First Dance opened with the entire arena chanting for CM Punk, a Chicago-native who had been heavily speculated to be making his AEW debut last Friday, in fact he was speculated since the formation of AEW in 2019 to be signing with the company, that was before its first pay-per-view Double or Nothing in Las Vegas and before the first episode of AEW Dynamite premiered on TNT. Once "Cult of Personality" - Punk's theme music - began playing. business was about to pick up in the United Center, and Punk made his way down to the ring with an emotional response that followed. Punk took the microphone, took off his jacket, showed off his new T-shirt, sat down on the ring, crossed his legs, and spoke to the AEW fans about his return. Then he challenged Darby Allin to a match at All Out, a match that Allin had teased a month beforehand, and it was made official shortly then after. I gotta tell you, seeing CM Punk in this capacity was I'll never forget, and I still remember to a WWE Raw house show at NYC's Madison Square Garden in December 2011 with my sister and see CM Punk defend the WWE Championship in a steel cage match, MSG is where I bought my CM Punk shirt, CM Punk wristbands and a toy replica of the WWE Title belt. As for AEW The First Dance, you can be sure that were matches after Punk returned, with Jurassic Express qualifying for the AEW Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Finals, Jade Cargill defeating Kiera Hogan, and Jon Moxley defeating Daniel Garcia.
Now let's move on to WWE SummerSlam last night at Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. We saw four championships change hands with Randy Orton and Riddle of RK-Bro winning the Raw Tag Team Championship, Damien Priest winning the United States Championship, and Charlotte Flair regaining the Raw Women's Championship. But the biggest change of all was when Bianca Belair was supposed defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks, but Sasha was not cleared to compete and was replaced by Carmella. N ow here comes the big shocker, before the bell could ring, Becky Lynch returned and attacked Carmella., then she challenged Bianca for the title, which Bianca accepted, and with 27 seconds Becky won the SmackDown Women's Championship, OH MY GOD. Later on, Edge made Seth Rollins TAP OUT in one of the best WWE matches I've ever seen, Goldberg was injured so bad by Bobby Lashley, his hopes of winning the WWE Championship were dashed and his son was put in the Hurt Lock by Lashley after the match. Then in the Main Event, the Universal Championship was on the LINE between John Cena and Roman Reigns, if Cena won, then not only he become a 17-Time World Champion but Reigns would leave WWE as well. However, neither of things happened because with one might spear, Roman retain the title which means he still with the WWE. But then, all heck was about to break loose when Brock Lesnar returned for the first time since WrestleMania 36 in 2020, Neither Reigns or Paul Heyman could believe what they were seeing, but I think they both knew what Lesnar wanted, and that's the Universal Championship that he held for so long. That was it for SummerSlam, but guess what? The WWE is not done with Vegas or Allegiant Stadium, next year in 2022 it's coming back to this wonderful stadium for Money in the Bank during the July 4th Weekend. To see the full results for SummerSlam, a final update on NXT TakeOver 36 tonight, and an update on the match card for AEW All Out, you know exactly where to go.
Elsewhere, here are bunch of MLB results and upcoming games that I know that nobody cares about in a mini-sized version of the Max Sports rundown.
