 This Week's UPDATES

Happy First Day of August Everybody! In less than 25 days, I'm going to attend Brooklyn College, and not only will I have online classes at home, but two out of the five classes I have will be in-person and on campus this Fall semester. I do not know how the rest of the year will turn out for me or for the rest of the world, the pandemic may not end of 2021 with the Delta variant dominating everywhere it goes. When I'm on campus, all I can do is follow the safety rules at Brooklyn College and get through my studies without catching the virus. It's been a crazy last week of July, and this week's 7-Day Round-Up has got news worth checking out.

As expected, we have history made and records broken at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Yesterday, Jamaica won a gold, sliver, and bronze medal in Women's 100m Final, and as you can see from the Round-Up from above, Elaine Thompson-Herah won the gold by setting a new Olympic record. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished second and Shericka Jackson finished third, completing a podium sweep for Jamaica. There's still another week of Olympics games to come and through the Max Sports rundown, we'll keep track of the medal count til the closing ceremony next Sunday. Meanwhile, the match card for WWE SummerSlam and NXT TakeOver 36 are coming alone great and teams in the MLB are making the most out of the trade deadline with their new acquisitions.

Our Main Topic this week is about Saturday, the last day of the week before Sunday and following Friday, and together with Sunday forms what is called the weekend. Every Saturday in July last month, I have gone some place fun, first it was seeing F9 in theaters on July 3rd, seeing Marvel Studios' Black Widow in theaters on July 10th, going to a birthday party and watching the NBA Finals at a Backyard Bar on July 17th, going to Valley Stream State Park for a Birthday BBQ on July 24th, and guess where I was yesterday, July 31st. My sister told me about The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark from a month prior to when we both went upstate and visited New York's Biggest Indoor Waterpark and I agree to go experience the water slides, food, entertainment, and other fun sights to see. My sister and I went on three slides yesterday, first it was The Krakken where we both screamed of joy, then the Time Wrap which I went on by myself and screamed at the top of my voice, and lastly the Nor'Easter where I screamed even louder. However, all that screaming left me with a scratchy throat and some of the water got into my ears and I've been trying to clean them. Other than this, I've had great fun at The Kartrite and I was able to snap some photos of the trip which readers can now see in the Web Choice gallery.

A two-hour road trip to New York's Biggest Indoor Waterpark is worth it.

We've arrived at The Kartrie.

The entrance was done beautifully well.

Love the K and the Dome.

Here's the map, the pools and the food.

Would have loved to try out the arcade, they even have a mini-bowling alley.

A wonderful kind a day it was.
