Today two things will be decided: First, where will the NBA teams stand having clinched a spot in the upcoming NBA Playoffs and Play-In Tournament starting this Tuesday? Second, where will the WWE go from tonight's WrestleMania Backlash Pay-Per-View? These aren't the only questions that will be answer all through the day of sports, we don't know much about the COVID-19 situation with the New York Yankees in baseball, what other matches will be added to the match card for AEW Double or Nothing, and how will the NHL deal with some cross border issues in order to complete it Stanley Cup Playoffs. We'll just have to watch out for today and later this week, but first, it's an all-new Max Sports rundown happening right now.

Our Main Story this week concerns an ongoing story from within the Republican Party. For months and months since the 2020 Election, the GOP has been in denial that they lost the Senate and the White House, all of this caused by the influence of our former President which is getting even stronger. Last Wednesday, House Republicans voted in the US House of Representatives to remove Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney - the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney - from her post as GOP conference chair, this position is considered to be for the third House Republican in leadership. For several weeks now Lix Cheney has come under fire by members of her own party for factual insistence that "our [2020] election was not stolen and America has not failed." To put it in better terms, she spoke the truth that the Democrats and President Joe Biden won the election fair and square, and Republicans did not like a single word she said. In fact, it was on January 12 that Cheney announced she would vote to impeach former President Trump for his role in inciting the storming of the United States Capitol during the certification process for Joe Biden when he was President-elect, this certainly ticked Republicans off since most of them voted not to impeach Trump. Cheney has said that Trump "lit the flame" of the riot and did nothing to stop it, and "there has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath", she announced her support for impeachment, and in the process nine other Republicans joined her in voting to impeach him. It's not just most of the GOP who were angered by Cheney's words, but also Trump supporters who were angry at her for voting to impeach, leading up to Republicans calling for her removal from Republican Party leadership. That brings us back to this past Wednesday when Liz Cheney was ousted from her position, while Representative Elise Stefanik of New York was elected to take her place last Friday, and in response said that she would do everything in her power to ensure that Trump won't become President again for another term and has not ruled the possibility of running in 2024 herself. She believes that the GOP is at a turning point right now, and with history watching them, it's now or never for them to make the right decisions before the imprint of Trump become permanent on them for good. For reactions to the ousting of Liz Cheney last Wednesday, here's a brand new political #TwitterTrend.

Sahil Kapur @sahilkapur
Good morning. History is unfolding in real time today as a major U.S. political party is set to oust a congressional leader for insisting that the 2020 presidential election was legitimate even though her side lost, a move seen by colleagues as divisive.

Sahil Kapur @sahilkapur
This means there's no official record of who sided with Liz Cheney as she rebukes 2020 election lies and who stood with the former president as he pushes them. A significant statement by the caucus to cast her aside by a voice vote. https://t.co/xiGw5jZW7i?amp=1
The Associated Press @AP
GOP House lawmakers removed Cheney from leadership by a voice vote during a closed-door meeting. Afterward, Cheney remained defiant. “I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office,” she said. https://t.co/dRdCRJbaw5?amp=1

The Washington Post @washingtonpost
Rather than focusing on whipping votes to save her job as conference chair, Rep. Liz Cheney has been drafting plans for increased travel and media appearances meant to drive home her case that Trump is unfit for a role in the Republican Party https://t.co/niSIN6MrVn?amp=1
Vox @voxdotcom
Rep. Liz Cheney's downfall is not an outlier.

At the national and state level, Republicans who challenged Trump’s falsehoods about the 2020 election have either been formally punished or publicly rebuked. https://t.co/8w0iMIHJ8L?amp=1

Nicholas Wu @nicholaswu12
Pelosi on Cheney: “The Republican denial of the truth presented by Congresswoman Cheney is reflected in their denial of the need to seek the truth in a January 6th commission and to repair the damage of January 6th with a security supplemental immediately."

Melanie Zanona @MZanona
Cheney, as expected, not fighting to hang on to her job:

“If you want leaders who will enable and spread his destructive lies, I’m not your person, you have plenty of others to choose from. That will be their legacy.”

Craig Caplan @CraigCaplan
Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) after today's House GOP Conference vote removing Liz Cheney as chair: "I'm fully supportive of Liz. What happened today was sad. Liz has committed the only sin of being consistent and telling the truth, the truth is that the election was not stolen."

Scott Wong @scottwongDC
Freedom Caucus @RepKenBuck just told reporters he voted IN SUPPORT of Cheney:

“Liz Cheney was cancelled today for speaking her mind and disagreeing with the narrative that President Trump was putting forward”

ABC News Politics @ABCPolitics
Press sec. Psaki on Rep. Liz Cheney being ousted from House GOP: "It's disturbing to see any leader, regardless of party, being attacked for simply speaking the truth."

Melanie Zanona @MZanona
After being ousted as conference chair, Cheney walked right down the middle of the aisle — through the crowd — and left the room.

Ryan Struyk @ryanstruyk
“Liz Cheney is a bitter, horrible human being,” Trump says in a statement after GOP vote to oust Cheney. “She has no personality or anything good having to do with politics or our Country.”
