This Week's UPDATES
I had a good day yesterday, I went back to the Rite Aid near LaGuardia Community College - where I got my first vaccine dose - to get my second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Before then, I paid for a ticket to go see a movie in theaters for the first time in well over a year, and I planned to see Spiral: From the Book of Saw, but since I got the vaccine early before the actual time of my appointment, I realized that I had only two hours before the movie. So I canceled the ticket from the Showcase theater I selected and got a refund in returned, then I order another new ticket from an AMC theater in Manhattan which was closet to where I was at Rite Aid. After taking two trains, figuring out where the heck the theater, buying some refreshments, climbing a bunch of stairs and escalators, I made to it in time to for Spiral starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. The trip home wasn't hard, and the pain in my left arm was worth knowing that I'm fully vaccinated from COVID-19 and I know that I did my part in trying to end this pandemic. Having told my story, let's listen to some more true-to-life stories in this week's all-new 7-Day Round-Up.
We've got the usual MLB, NBA and NHL results in our latest Max Sports rundown. The Stanley Cup Playoffs is slowly entering its second round which could be the most important one of them all, while the NBA Playoffs enters another weekend of high energy basketball action. Plus, AEW Double or Nothing will be packed with the wrestling promotion first full capacity crowd in well over a year, and this could be a big turning point for AEW going forward. So whatever happens, don't missed all the day's games and events, and here's a look at what's on the menu.
Our Main Story this week is on Disneyland in Anaheim, California, it was announced that guests from outside the state of Cali would be allowed into the guests on June 15th. However, that's not the story we're going to discuss, instead, here to talk about the all-new Avengers Campus opening this Friday June 4th. Prior to this there will be a LIVE Grand Opening Ceremony on June 2nd and streaming on different platforms, and I intend to be a part of its live virtual launch party on that night. To find out everything there is to know about Avengers Campus before it opens to public, leave it to yours truly to breakdown all the details. First, Avengers Campus will open at Disney California Adventure, the premise of this new immersive land is that:
“When more powerful forces threatened the entire planet, the Avengers realized that the Earth needs more heroes. So using the idea “to bring together a group of remarkable people - to see if they could become something more” - Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have created a brand-new global Avengers Initiative. One that brings the next generation of remarkable people together - through the setup new Headquarters and technology sharing exchanges around the globe to empower and inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become heroes."
The land was supposed to open on July 18, 2020 in an announcement before the COVID-19 pandemic got started, but then construction was delayed causing to the Grand Opening to be pushed to this year in 2021. Avengers Campus stands between Cars Land and Hollywood Land at DCA, in the same spot where A Bug’s Land once was. That themed land closed in 2018, allowing the campus to built, but before it was, DCA re-themed The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror to Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! in 2017. The attraction building that once housed "It's Tough to Be a Bug" is now home to WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, where guests can help Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man and the Worldwide Engineering Brigade AKA W.E.B. capture the Spider-Bots that have wreaked havoc on the Avengers Campus in an attraction that blends physical sets and virtual environments together.
This is not only things guests will se at Avengers Campus, they'll see a big Avengers stunt show and a Spider-Man Flying stunt robot, the Sanctum (in the same spot as Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train) occupied by Doctor Strange and the Orb of Cagliosto, and the Pym Test Kitchen (in the same spot as Flik's Flyers). The Test Kitchen's menu has Breakfast items like: The Calculated Breakfast = E x 2 + (B+P)/T, Impossible Quantum Garden Breakfast, Ever-Expanding Cinna-Pym Toast, Spoonful of Cereal, and for the kids: Cinna-Pym Mini Toast and Nano Eggs-periment 101. Under Snacks & Sips: Quantum Pretzels, Atomic Fusion Pretzels, Green Pingo Doce drinks, and Pink Proton PB&J Punch. For Blue Particle Specials: Impossible™ Spoonful Meatball & Pasta, Caesar Salad + Colossal Crouton, PYM-ini Sandwiches, PB³ Superb Sandwiches, and Not So Little Chicken Sandwiches. So many sandwiches, one bigger after the other. Red Particle Mini-Meals are for kids consisting of: Teeny Pym-ini, Subatomic Chicken Sandwich, PB&J Flavor Lab, and Mini Pasta & Impossible Meat-balls.
