Our Main Story takes another look inside the country's plans to combat the COVID-19 virus. The commander-in-chief President Joe Biden continues to try and get things up and running sooner rather than later, and now he has given us some new information that we're going to dive-in right now. During a press conference last Tuesday, Biden outlined a new strategy to increase COVID-19 vaccine access in the United States, the main goal in doing this is to administer at least one shot of the vaccines to 70% of  adults in this country, and have 160 million Americans vaccinated by July 4th, aka the Fourth of July, aka Independence Day. I'm part of the current percentage of Americans who has gotten a least one dose of a vaccine, now in the 40 mark, and having recovered from the pain in my left arm from being injected with the Moderna vaccine, I'm due to get the second dose in May 29th. As for the idea that America can have some resemblance of life before COVID-19, this seems too good to be true, but we've been promised time and time again the pandemic will come to an end, even though we don't know exactly when that time will come. In order to achieve this goal, President Biden said during the press conference that “if and when” Pfizer’s vaccine is approved for teenagers, his administration would be able to move quickly on improving vaccine distribution between states in the country. This gives the impression that even more Americans of all ages will be vaccinated by this summer, however, Vaccines rates have been declining and hesitancy over getting a vaccine has been growing much higher in the US. The minute I step foot into rite aid, I became nervous about getting vaccinated due to one thing: my fear of needles, but I waited until it was my turn, sat down, and took it like a real man. Now I look forward to getting another shot at end of the month, and I implore those who are hesitance to show courage and do their part in bringing this pandemic to an end. Vaccines alone may not be enough to combat COVID-19, but it's the first step in the right direction to save lives sooner before we lose them. For more details on President Biden's latest strategy, here's a political #TwitterTrend that explains all.
