This Week's UPDATES

Big love and support to go out to the victims of the Spa shootings in Atlanta, Georgia. Eight people were killed and six of them were Asian women, of all the mass shootings that occurred before there was a pandemic, this has been seen as one of the worst in years. Gun violence has always been a problem in the room, and even more so that people on social media have called this shooting a hate crime as during the pandemic, there has been a rise in anti-Asian sentiment in the United States. The shooter is in custody now but no clear motive on why he did this, but in his words he has said that: "his actions were not racially motivated, and he was driven by "sex addiction" at odds with his religious beliefs." That statement has not stopped people from voicing their own opinions, they want to see justice served and why is they have taken to the streets in the middle of a pandemic to protest anti-Asian hatred in the US. Some would call them similar to the Black Lives Matter protests last Summer but I wonder what the outcome will be for protesting attacks against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. This story can be seen in this week's 7-Day Round-Up, so scroll down below to learn more details on the shootings.

March Madness is BACK, we've have seen the best moments in this NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament over the past few days. All #1 seeded teams advanced to the second round, but #15 Oral Roberts pulled off a big upset over #2 Ohio State. On the bright side, a different Ohio team seeded #13 is moving on after beating #4 Virginia, and how can you not mention that late Saturday night game where #14 Abilene Christian defeated #3 Texas by the closest of margins in their first March Madness. Bad news to address in this tournament, the game between #7 Oregon and #10 VCU went uncontested after COVID-19 protocols with VCU went awry, causing Oregon to advance and take on Iowa Monday as their first game of the tournament. For more tournament results and other sports cravings, here they are in an brand-new Max Sports rundown.

Our Main Story this week is on The Falcon and The Winter Solider on Disney+, the series premiere dropped last Friday and there's a lot to wrap one's head around. WARNING: This piece contains spoilers for the first episode, so if you haven't seen it, then stop reading and move on towards the end this post. Firstly, the series takes place six months after Avengers: Endgame and supposedly five after WandaVision, the Blip taken a mighty toll on the entire MCU and changes have only just begun. Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have their own issues to deal with before they can team-up in adventure that will take them across the globe. One thing to point out is that Don Cheadle appears once again as James Rhodes aka Rhodey and War Machine, and it look like me might see more of him down the road in this series. Sam is working for the United States Air Force while Bucky has been going therapy in order to redeem himself from his past as the Winter Soldier, but is doesn't seem that either of them are doing okay. We see Sam thwart a plane hijacking and the threat of the Flag-Smashers looming over the horizon, but he doesn't take up the mantle of Captain America from Steve Rodgers so quickly, as he still feels that Cap's shield "belongs to someone else." For Bucky, he has named friends an old Japanese man, but finds out later that his son was a victim who Bucky assassinated long ago. Things get a little better for Bucky in the form of a date with a hit young Japanese lady, however, the episode ends on a serious note, and I say that because we're about to be introduced to the "new" Captain America. The U.S. government introduces John Walker looking just like the original Cap with the suit and shield, must to dismay of Sam, and who could blame him. Having wrote this piece, I've decided that I'm going to review the next five episodes over the next five Sunday, as I feel this is something fresh and new I could talk about aside from the real-life stories I'm accustom to. To see the reaction and review of others for Episode One of The Falcon and The Winter Solider, here's a jam-packed Web Choice playlist to lend a hand. One of the items recovered is the Ronin suit once wore by Clint who had lost his way during Avengers: Endgame after his family disappeared, then the auction is interrupted by the Tracksuit Mafia, a Russian street gang looking for a watch among the items.
