This Week's UPDATES

It warms my heart to see American Baseball on my TV again, LIVE and In Living Color. That's right the 2020 MLB Season is finally underway and it's going to be a joy yo see all the sports I love on TV this Summer. The NBA and NHL are set to make their returns later this week and while we can be there see them play in-person, we are all so glad to see that things starting to return to normal slowly. We'll have more baseball to talk about today, but first, it's time again at the beginning at each post that we take a deep dive into this week's 7-Day Round-Up. The last thing on the list is a real heart breaker and I want to take this time to say how saddened I am to here hear that Regis Philbin has passed away yesterday, most of us knew him from Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? and Live with Regis and Kelly on ABC. Those shows are still going strong thanks to his influence on them, as many TV personalities and actors have been inspired by his work and know it can never be matched or outdone. Later on, we're going to look at Regis Philbin's best moments over the years and perhaps hear from others who knew him very well and what he meant to them in life.

The 2020 MLB season is in full swing and we've got a weekend full of games from across the nation. While there's only 60 games this year and teams can only in their respective regions (East, Central, West), we can all look forward to one incredible fact. That is that we will have an expanded postseason this year, even though it may only be for this year. From a 10-team format to a 16-team format, this shortened has created more opportunities for teams to get a shot at making the postseason and the way it look is like this: All first and second place teams in the six divisions will qualify for the playoffs, that makes twelve, the final two spots in each league will be determined from the remaining teams with the best win-loss records, rounding out the field to a total of sixteen. The teams in each league will be seeded by division winners from 1–3, second place teams from 4–6, and best teams remaining, or in better terms Wild Card teams will be seeded 7–8. The league and players union agreed to this last Thursday just moments before the first pitch on Opening Night in Washington, D.C., they have also said that seeding ties will be resolved by head-to-head record, intra-league record, and record in final 20 intra-league games, to remove the necessity for additional games. For the scheduling of the 16-team postseason, the first round will be a set of three games called the Wild Card Series, with all games to be played at the home stadium of the higher seeded team and set between late September and early October. After that, the postseason will follow the usual pattern of five-game Division series, seven-game League Championship Series, and a seven-game World Series which will get done by the very end of October. It's amazing how the MLB and players union we're able to squeeze this all in more the season got started last Thursday and were able to play games in November which is likely when a second wave of COVID-19 will commence. To see how teams are doing in Opening Weekend of the MLB, here's a very fun edition of the Max Sports Rundown with a whole lot more games that I have been waiting a long time to write down.
