This Week's UPDATES

Our Main Story this week will be the first thing we talk about on this post today. This has been a week in America which is for once not dominated by the coronavirus pandemic, in fact, I haven't and see heard how many people are dead because of the the virus. Instead, the news has been talking on and on about the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American man who lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was dealing with the pandemic. He had recently lost his job due to Minnesota's stay-at-home order and lived his last day on May 25 (Last Monday). Just after 8PM, he was arrested for allegedly attempting to use a $20 bill in a deli, which an employee identified as counterfeit, this was brought to the attention of Minneapolis P.D. Preparing to leave in a car, Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the road, while Officer Derek Chauvin, who is white, kept his knee on the right side of Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, Chauvin did not let  go even after Floyd became unresponsive for 2 minutes and 53 seconds. The incident was recorded on smartphones of bystanders, Police stated that Floyd "physically resisted" after being ordered to exit his vehicle before the video was filmed, but Surveillance footage and the recorded video appeared to contradict those claims, as Floyd was shown falling twice while being escorted by the officers. Another witness recording the arrest showed that Floyd was repeating "Please", "I can't breathe", and "Don't kill me," then the police called for an ambulance after Floyd was unresponsive. Paramedics moved Floyd from the location and were doing chest compression and other lifesaving measures, and once he was taken to a medical center, he was pronounced dead at 9:25PM.
What I didn't mention before was there were four officers involved in the incident, they were all fired from Minneapolis P.D. the next day on May 26 and Chauvin was charged with Third-degree murder and Second-degree manslaughter. The death of George sparked protests and riots throughout the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area starting on May 26 (Last Tuesday) and would spread nationwide afterwards, these protesters realize that there's a pandemic and they're risking their own lives by not social distancing and staying at home. Four things I've never forget from these protests was: 1. A police precinct in Minneapolis was burned down by protesters, 2. A CNN reporter of color was arrested on live TV, 3. the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta being vandalized by protesters and 4. Police cars in New York City were plowing through protesters through in the streets. This country will never be the same after these protests and the pandemic, recovery will take never longer with both events taking place simultaneously and I can't imagine what things will look like next year. The following videos in this upcoming Web Choice playlist about to be shown are unreal and the images will be talked about for years to come and history books have their hands full on this one.
