Our Main Story this week is something very near and dear to me for a little while and it involves Community. The hit TV series had aired on NBC for five season before airing its sixth and final season on the defunct Yahoo! Video-On-Demand service. I never what the premise of this show as at first, but I learned a few days ago that it's inspired by the real-life community college experiences of the series creator Dan Harmon (also co-creator of Rick and Morty). Tell me how crazy this sounds, I was inspired by Dan Schneider to write Nickelodeon-based TV shows, and now I'm inspired by another man named Dan to one day make a show or a movie based on my experience at LaGaurdia Community College. Moving on, Variety reported that the cast and creator of the hit show will reunite on May 18 in order to help raise funds to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts. Donald Glover, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong will join Dan Harmon for a table read and Q&A, which will probably happen virtually as social distancing is still a thing. See what fans have to say about this exciting news in an exciting new #TwitterTrend.
