This Week's UPDATES

Has anyone been following the public Impeachment Hearings? Well it's our Main Story this week and we have some full details. It all started with the testimonies of acting U.S. ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor and the senior State Department official in charge of Ukraine, George Kent. While I did not watch the hearings because I was in college, here's what we know so far, Taylor testified that the day after the Trump–Zelensky phone call, one of his aides, David Holmes, had overheard U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland speaking to President Trump via cellphone in a Kyiv restaurant, hearing the president refer to "the investigations". David Holmes had  testified behind closed doors last Friday and what he heard from Trump is unbelievable. Apparently, he heard the President ask "so, he's gonna do the investigation?" to which Sondland replied, "he's gonna do it", adding [Volodymyr] Zelensky would do "anything you ask him to". Holmes also testified that Sondland later told him that Trump "did not give a shit about Ukraine" and "only cared about the big stuff ... the big stuff that benefits the president like the Biden investigation that Mr. [Rudy] Giuliani was pushing." Marie Yovanovitch's testimony began last Friday and said that she had three contacts with Giuliani, not involving the current allegations, and did not know why he chose to attack and discredit her. She also said that his allegations against her were false and that no one in the State Department believed them and added that she was "shocked and devastated" when Trump disparaged her and said she was "going to go through some things" during his telephone call with Zelensky. From what I'm hearing as I'm writing all of this down, there's no question that the President is in some serious trouble and yet he just doesn't care. Nancy Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said a few days ago that Trump may have committed bribery, which according the Constitution is an impeachable offense, but even if the House can do their part in trying to remove him, his faith lies in the hands of the Senate. To get some real analysis on the current state of the Impeachment inquiry, here comes a political Web Choice playlist with video clips from MSNBC, which is quite honesty the only news network I trust these days.

Last but not least for today is our Max Sports rundown. It's only a manner of time before someone in the NFL clinches the very first spot in the NFL Playoffs next year, and with no more undefeated teams left this season, it's anybody's ball game now. Elsewhere, the NBA has seen a lot of high scoring moments to start the season as teams are showing off their new toys they acquired from the off-season. We can't also forget about the NHL with teams giving fewer goals in each games to improve their status as the top teams in the hockey league, to see how good teams in each league are doing, you know just where to look.
