This Week's UPDATES

Last week, I gave a brief statement about the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio and just as everyone expected, nothing is being done be about them by U.S. congress. Organizations such as March For Our Lives are putting their foot down and speaking on behalf of the victims of both shootings, and Walmart is facing several boycotts due to the fact that the company has chosen to ban violent video games on display instead of banning guns from their stores. Even Walmart employees have taken action by participating in walkouts to show their support to the victims, it seems like we all what to do our part in supporting those those who are killed by the senseless action of one human being. Some people will try and move on from this, and some will not because they want the real-life violence to end in America once and for all, but while we wait forever for something to be done, we don't have to wait for this week's 7-Day Round-Up.

Our Main Story this week is about last night's NXT TakeOver in Toronto, five matches were on the card as the outcome of each one of them would determine the black and yellow brand of the WWE. There have been rumors swirling around their NXT maybe headed to FS1 and LIVE on Wednesday Nights to go head-to-head with the new AEW show on TNT this Fall. As for TakeOver: Toronto last night, we all thought it would the night that The Undisputed Era would win every championship in NXT, but Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly failed to win the NXT Tag Team Championships from the Street Profits and Roderick Strong came up sort in the Triple Threat match for the NXT North American Championship. We'll get into Adam Cole/Johnny Gargano III later but first let's discuss the two women's matches from last night, the NXT Women's Championship is still in the clutches of Shayna Baszler after she outsmarted The HBIC Mia Yim, and Io Shirai not changed her look, but her whole attitude which was more than enough to beat Candice LeRae who was given a lot of praises for her performance last night. The main event was a grueling 2 out of 3 Falls match for the NXT Championship between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano, the first fall was a regular singles match which Cole won by disqualification, the second fall was a Street Fight which was won Gargano who made Cole tap out. The third and final fall was chosen by NXT General Manger William Regal who picked a barbed wire steel cage. That's right, having seen one of those in a long time, and the cage was filled with all kinds of weapons which both competitors used to destroy each other. The climax of the match was both men falling 20 Feet off the cage and into a table, but Adam Cole got his left arm over the stomach of Johnny Wrestling for the pinfall and the win. So the Undisputed Era was fortunate enough to keep the NXT Championship in their possession, but something tells me their mission to be draped in gold is far from over. To see some of the action from last night, here's a Web Choice playlist showcasing moments from one of the best NXT TakeOvers to date.
