This Week's UPDATES

I spent the past two weeks helping out with the overhaul of my basement, and by overhaul I mean to remove almost all piece of garbage downstairs. That is why last week I was unable to do any updates, but I'm here now and set to tell you what I've been up to, fun fact: on Thursday I headed out to Manhattan on 52nd Street and 11th Avenue for a LIVE taping of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. That's right, one of my life long dreams have come true, and I got to see Trevor host the show in-person and talk about the Democratic Debates that would going on last Wednesday and Thursday. I did take some pictures while I was on set and I got to touch the Daily Show desk with my bare hands, it felt like I was touching something very special and I wish I could have sit in Trevor's chair and hang out around the desk. Yesterday, I got to see Avengers: Endgame in theaters for a second time and it offered three things at the end of the credits, a tribute to Stan Lee, a deleted scene from the movie featuring the Hulk and a special look at the next Marvel Studios film Spider-Man: Far From Home. When I got out of the theater, they offered us these cool poster of Iron Man's Infinity Gauntlet and of course I love it 3000, I love the fact that Marvel Studios has always had something to offer to its fans, including me and after watching these movies for 11 years, it culminates with this beautiful poster which I keep for as long as I live. After two weeks of hard work, it's time to settle in with the return of the 7-Day Round-Up.

Our Main Story this week concerns Basketball, four of America's favorite sports and we are in for a treat this summer because NBA Free Agency begins tonight at 6PM. Many of the NBA's best players will becomes free agents by just a few hours and we already have some big news before the fun truly begins. Kemba Walker chosen to leave the Charlotte Hornets and head to Boston Celtics, almost like he's replacing Kyrie Irving who at this very moment is nearing deal with the Brooklyn Nets. It looks like part one of the Nets' dream scenario has come to fruition as they now look to pair him up with a second superstar that may be added to their roster, maybe Mr. Kevin Durant. As we wait until 6PM, let's see what the reaction is for Kyrie's plans to sign a four-year, $141 million deal with the Nets who have all of a sudden have become one of the hottest team in the basketball league.

Ian Begley @IanBegley
Kyrie Irving is headed to Brooklyn, per ESPN. The Nets, as expected, will not pair Irving & All Star guard D'Angelo Russell in the same backcourt. They will now have enough space for Kevin Durant. We'll find out if Durant wants to join Kyrie in BK shortly:

How Kyrie looking at KD after he sign with the Nets

#FreeKFS: Knicks Film School @JeffreyBellone
With Kyrie Irving set to join the Nets, “Several executives monitoring the Durant situation don't believe Durant would be interested in being seen as someone who followed another player to a team,” per @IanBegley

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Free agent Kyrie Irving is meeting with the Brooklyn Nets in New York on Sunday and both sides are motivated to move quickly toward reaching a 4-year, $141M deal, league sources tell ESPN.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Once Kyrie Irving commits to a deal, Nets are expected to renounce All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell and allow him to become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell ESPN. Russell led Nets to the playoffs this past season. There's tremendous league-wide interest in Russell.

ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo
Kyrie Irving would be the first free agent that the Nets have ever acquired on a $100M contract.

He would be the 6th player to join the Nets after making an All-NBA Team the previous season, joining Deron Williams, Dikembe Mutombo, Jason Kidd, Otis Birdsong and Tiny Archibald.

Marc Stein @TheSteinLine
The Nets have no choice -- they MUST secure a commitment from Kyrie Irving ASAP -- but team officials also know doing a deal with Kyrie first lessens their chances of landing Kevin Durant in one regard: Durant is said to be adamant about making his own call without being lobbied

SportsBusinessRadio @SBRadio
As we’ve been telling you for weeks.....Kyrie to the Nets. Closer to home & a fresh start.

𝐉𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭  @JayTyree_
Someone tell me why Kyrie wants to go to the Nets. Basically gonna go through the same thing he did with the Celtics 🤔

David Roth @david_j_roth
Take it from someone who initially opposed the Marbury-for-Kidd trade AS A NETS FAN: I also dislike the idea of exchanging D'Angelo Russell for Kyrie Irving.

Dan Lyons @Dan_Lyons76
I think it’s probably a necessary risk if there’s a real chance to get KD but as a standalone move it makes me incredibly nervous.

Ceezy @m_cole34
I’m not sure why he didn’t wanna play for the Knicks, felt like him & K.D could’ve did great things there together..if the Nets don’t get Durant or Kawhi, they really should go after Butler

Robin Lundberg @robinlundberg
Here’s the thing regarding Kyrie to Brooklyn...for a superstar to be available, go to New York, and choose the Nets...that’s a big deal. Perception wise the game has changed.
