This Week's UPDATES

My first full week at college was a hoot and ended with a Friday Night Trip to see Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel. I truly loved the movie despite all the mixed reaction from both sides of the critics perspective, and it explained a lot as to how the Avengers came to be before debuting on the big screen in 2012. I'm trying to give away any spoilers, but I suggest that the #KlicKNet viewers see the movie right away before Avengers: Endgame premieres next month or before the last trailer of Endgames comes out which is aid to be coming something this month or early April. This week's 7-Day Postcast was very hard to come up with, as there hasn't been any interesting news coming out of the Nation's Capitol or any other political news to discuss, and that;s is where I am at my seriousness. Truth be known, there has been some heartbreaking news regarding the passing of two great people in the world, the end of one era, the start of something massive, and the arrival of something that will leave people speechless. Finally, there's one set of news that is a history making-moment for that so many will people taking about for the rest of the year and that's the best kind of news that you will be getting in this new verison of my now-weekly blog on Sundays.

Our Main Story this week concerns "Standings," which are tables of scores indicating the relative positions of competitors in a sports contest. It has been take notice that the NBA and NHL regular seasons are coming to an end next month, with the NHL on Saturday, April 6th and the NBA on the following week, Wednesday, April 10th. Very soon, the Stanley Cup playoffs will begin a few days afterwards, and the 2018 NBA Playoffs have an official start date of Saturday, April 13th, but before we can get there, we need to know who's in the playoffs and who's out, so today we're going to be looking at the NBA and NHL Playoff Standings and see where teams are positioned in different seeding which are the most tricky because it determine the different match-ups that will start the first round.

Let's start with the NHL Standings which can be broken down easily with its Wild Card setting, the only NHL team to have clinched a playoff berth so far are the Tampa Bay Lightning who are currently 52-13-4 and with 108 Points, more than enough for them to win the Atlantic Division, the Eastern Conference and the President's Trophy. Meanwhile, here are the rest of Eastern Conference standings, Boston Bruins (42-17-9, 93 points) and Toronto Maple Leafs (42-21-5, 89 Points) hold the rest fort in the Atlantic Division, and the Metropolitan Division goes out like this with the Washington Captials (40-21-7, 87 Points), New York Islanders (39-22-7, 85 Points), and Carolina Hurricanes (37-24-7, 81 Points) all vie for the 1st place. Wild Card spots in the East are currently being held by the Pittsburgh Penguins (36-23-9, 81 Points) and Columbus Blue Jackets (38-27-3 79 Points), the former of course has a chance to get back into the Metro Division and escape the thought of facing the Lighting in the first round. The Western Conference in the NHL are currently being held by the San Jose Sharks who are 41-19-8 and with 90 Points, they lead the Pacific Division with the Calgary Flames (41-20-7, 89 Points) and Vegas Golden Knights (38-26-5, 81 Points) are trailing behind. The Central Division has been considered to be the worst division in the NHL for the Winnipeg Jets (40-23-4, 84 Points), Nashville Predators (39-26-5, 83 Points) and St. Louis Blues (36-25-7 79 Points) do not seem to come close at winning making to the Stanley Cu Final. The Dallas Stars (35-28-5, 75 Points) and Minnesota Wild (33-28-8, 74 Points) look to have the most unlikely chance at making pass the first round as they try to hold on to their Wild Card sots in the West.

The NBA Standings have been really fun to watch, the Eastern Conference has gotten back to its former Glory, but without any Cavs to lead the way in the in #1 Seed, that honors lies with the Milwaukee Bucks who were the first NBA team to clinch by beating the Los Angeles Lakers on March 1st, and the have the best record in all of the league at 50-16, the second best best goes to the Toronto Raptors who are 47-19, have the #2 Seed in the East, and clinched a playoff berth last night. The Indiana Pacers are in the 3rd Seed with a record of 4224, followed by the new and improved Philadelphia 76ers in the 4th seed and at 4125. The lower half of the Eastern Conference is likely going to be a race to the finish, with the Boston Celtics (41–26) at #5, the Detroit Pistons (33–31) at #6, the surging Brooklyn Nets (35–33) at #7, and the Miami Heat (31–34) at #8. The Golden State Warriors on a quest to win their third straight championship in the span of three seasons, they a record of 45–20 and are in tight battle for the Western Conference's #1 Seed with the surprising Denver Nuggets who are right now in the #2 Seed and at 43–22. A three-way battle for the #3 Seed in the West is being contest between the Houston Rockets (40–25), the #4 Oklahoma City Thunder (40–26), and the #5  Portland Trail Blazers (40–26), it's hard to tell who has the best to claim that third spot in the West, but's very important that one of them does. Finally, the Utah Jazz (37–28), San Antonio Spurs (38–29), and Los Angeles Clippers (37–29) are fighting for the 6th Seed in the West, each team has improved their roster this season it will be interesting to see if they will remain #6, #7 and #8 or will one or two of them will miss the playoffs. We will see soon of makes it the next phase of the hockey and basketball seasons, but for now let's take a better look at the standings and some good 'ol Max Sports results.
