Today's UPDATES

It is safe to say that we are officially on the Road to WrestleMania 35, the Royal Rumble blew the roof off of Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and here's a Max Sports rundown on most of the action. During the Kickoff Show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States Championship over Rusev, but it came after Lana injured her left ankle when trying to point out to the referee that Nakamura was cheating, soon the King of Strong Style took advantage and is now a two-time U.S. Champion. On the main card, Asuka and Becky Lynch were in a slugfest at Chase Field for the SmackDown Women's Championship, these ladies used everything in their arsenals, but the Empress of Tomorrow retain her Championship an outstanding submission move. The Miz and Shane McMahon had championship success as well when they Sheamus and Cesaro of The Bar for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, then we got Ronda Rousey defending the RAW Women's Championship against Sasha Banks, this match got very personal in such a quick time with Banks having won this opportunity a couple of weeks ago on RAW. With a Piper's Pit to Banks, The Rowdy One retain the championship and earned a little respect from The Boss who promised that this was not over, but to move on, the 30-Women Royal Rumble match, the first entry was NXT alumni Lacey Evans and #2 was Natalya. We saw so many surprise entries including Nikki Cross, Xia Li, Kairi Sane, Maria Kanellis, Candace LeRae, Kacy Catanzaro, Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley, all these women have made a name for themselves in NXT, the Mae Young Classic, and NXT UK. But none of the twenty-nine women make the biggest impact than Becky Lynch, she took the place of an injured Lana who came at #28 and was hurt even further, The Man overcame her own injury and last eliminated Charlotte Flair to win and go to WrestleMania. Back to the men's side of action, "The New" Daniel Bryan would insult the Royal Rumble Burger that Chase Field made for the event before he defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles, both men would push each other to the limit, but then match was tarnished when Erick Rowan appeared and he helped "The New" Daniel Bryan retain over a defenseless AJ Styles, as if the Former Leader of the Yes Movement couldn't get any lower. Next up, the Universal Championship was on the line between "The Beast" Brock Lesnar and Finn Bálor, The Leader of Bálor Club came out of the gate fast and took it to Brock Lesnar in every way he knew how, Lesnar has gotten himself injured, he would fight through the pain dished out by Bálor, even overcoming a Coupe De Grace and turning it into a Kimura Lock and he would retain the Universal Title. It was then time for the 30-Men Royal Rumble match, Elias came out as #1 and was joined in a singing duo by the #2 Entry WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, though it didn't last long and Jarrett was the first to be eliminated. So many other great superstars joined the fray such as Kurt Angle, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Aleister Black, Shelton Benjamin, Jeff Hardy and Braun Strowman who was replacing an injured John Cena. The biggest surprise came out the end when Nia Jax attacked R-Truth and took his spot as the #30 Entrant, she eliminated Mustafa Ali who lasted 30 Minutes, but then got Superkicked by Dolph Ziggler, 619 by Rey Mysterio, and even RKO'd by Randy Orton before being eliminated herself. The last two men in the Rumble match were Braun Strowman who came out at #27 and Seth Rollins who was #10, the latter of which hit The Stomp on the former and just like that, Rollins won the Men's Royal Rumble after lasting 43 minutes in there. Can't wait to see what tonight's RAW is going to be like, but until then, see what else happened in sports yesterday.

When I turned on the TV to ESPN, it was revealed in a Breaking News story that New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis has requested this morning to be trade to another team. His Agent Rich Paul notified the New Orleans Pelicans that the All-NBA forward will not be signing a contract extension and would like to traded. This changes everything in the NBA and with the Trade Deadline coming up next week, and the All-Star Game in a couple of weeks, I shutter to think as to where Davis is gonna go. One big note in all of this is that the Boston Celtics who have been after Davis for a long time now, cannot trade for him now, they had a opportunity before and now it's gone. The Lakers will do everything in their power to get Davis on their teams, and I hear that the New York teams, Knicks and Nets, could be in the running for the Five-Time NBA All-Star. For more this Breaking Story, get a load of the newest #TwitterTrend created by me, it is mostly made up of ESPN analysts and Bleacher Report.

Shams Charania @ShamsCharania
All-Star Anthony Davis‘ agent, Rich Paul, notified the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday that Davis will not sign a contract extension and has requested a trade, Paul says. Davis also had conversations with teammates prior to his decision.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Agent Rich Paul has notified the New Orleans Pelicans that All-NBA forward Anthony Davis has no intention of signing a contract extension if and when presented and that he has requested a trade, Paul told ESPN on Monday.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Davis could sign a 5-year, $240M contract extension this summer, and can become a free agent in the summer of 2020.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn
Rich Paul to ESPN on a preferred destination for Anthony Davis: "Anthony wants to be traded to a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship."

Shane Young @YoungNBA
What needs to be remembered:
Anthony Davis is under contract next season, can’t opt out until 2020. Any team that trades for him now will have a full season (after this one) to entice him to stay long-term. Similar to the Kawhi situation, except it’s happening earlier

Jay King @ByJayKing
The timing of this Anthony Davis news is not ideal for the Celtics. Pelicans don’t have to trade him now, of course. But the Celtics can’t acquire the superstar until this summer unless they move Kyrie Irving, and the point of landing Davis would be to pair him with Kyrie.

Finally for today, our Web Choice playlist is about Super Bowl LIII, next Sunday night at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The matchup couldn't get any more perfect, even though my hopes for Chiefs-Rams matchup were dashed, we still get an nice showdown between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams who both held rallies yesterday afternoon. Both teams really excited about playing each other as it is a rematch from seventeen years ago, some are calling it "Destiny vs. Dynasty" but we'll just have to wait and see Next Sunday as the game will be televised on CBS. Take a look at how the rallies went yesterday and a highlight reel from the NFL who have the tale of the tape for the Patriots-Rams.
