Today's UPDATES

Week 13 in the NFL Season is considered to be the right time when teams begin to clinch a least a playoff berth for January. In today's Max Sports rundown, we are going to take a quick look at all of the Playoff-clinching scenarios today, starting with the Los Angeles Rams. They had a lot of help a few days ago in what was the highest rated Thursday Night Football game ever not just for Fox, but any network ever, 14.6 million watched the Dallas Cowboys upset the New Orleans Saints 13-10. Some of those viewers may have been LA Rams fans and now they all head in today as their team travels to Detroit to take Lions, and if the Rams win or if the Seahawks lose to the San Francisco 49ers in Seattle then the Rams will be NFC West Division Champions. They also have a chance to retake the #1 Seed in the NFC Conference thanks to that New Orleans loss last Thursday, but they could use another of those if they want to make things legit. The Kansas City Chiefs still remain the #1 Seed in the AFC Conference and could clinch a playoff berth today, but that's easier said than done because their playoff-clinching scenario is very very complicated, they would need to beat the Oakland Raiders today and hope that the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans all loss, and with any of the following possibilities to occur: 1. the Tennessee Titans loss, 2. Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals loss, 3. Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers loss. So the Chiefs will have to wait another week to clinch the playoffs, 'cause when you look at the schedule for today you gotta believe that it's almost impossible for any those outcomes to happen, and while you're at it take a look at this weekend's results in pro basketball and hockey.

And Now, a special #TwitterTrend moment honoring the life and death of former President of the United States George H.W. Bush. I never know much about this man except he ran for President in 1988 and won, his term lasted four years after he lost to Bill Clinton in his re-election campaign in 1992. However, H.W. Bush accomplished more than anyone like me will ever know, before his son George W. Bush was elected in 2000, he had a long career in both domestic politics and foreign affairs. He wasn't just a President, he was Vice-President for President Ronald Reagan, a World War II Veteran, Congressman, GOP Chairman, CIA Director, UN Ambassador and Chief of US Liaison Office To China. The Bush family announced the death of the 41st president of the United States in a statement last Friday night, saying he was "a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for." The 94-year-old man will always be remembered as one of the best President that a whole country could ask, and here are a couple of tweets that tell you other people's story about him and the statement given from the Bush Family.

America has lost a patriot and humble servant in George Herbert Walker Bush. While our hearts are heavy today, they are also filled with gratitude. Our thoughts are with the entire Bush family tonight – and all who were inspired by George and Barbara’s example.

Bill and Hillary Clinton on George H.W. Bush: "He never stopped serving. I saw it up close, working with him on tsunami relief in Asia and here at home after Hurricane Katrina. His remarkable leadership and great heart were always on full display.”

Fmr. VP Dan Quayle on Pres. George H.W. Bush

"I have often told my children “If you want a role model in your life — look to President George Herbert Walker Bush.  The world mourns the loss of a great American. But, it also celebrates a life well lived."

Jeb Bush, Jr. @JebBushJr
Nothing gave my Gampy more joy than service to others, especially supporting and caring for those who risk making the ultimate sacrifice everyday.  His leadership taught us to be kinder and gentler, to love each other.  We will miss him dearly.
George P. Bush @georgepbush
My grandfather was the greatest man I ever knew.  His life spanned the American Century—he fought in World War II ... took part in the Texas oil boom ... served out a distinguished career in public service including serving as president during the final days of the Cold War.
George P. Bush @georgepbush
Along the way, he married the love of his life and was a father to six, including a president and two governors.  But to me, he will always be Gampy. The man who taught me to fish in Maine, to throw a horseshoe and to swing a baseball bat lefty.
George P. Bush @georgepbush
He was more than a great man; he was a good man.  His courage was matched by his compassion; and his dedication to country was equaled only by his devotion to his family.  Gampy, we love you and we will miss you.  But we will never forget you.
POLITICO @politico
In Jan. 2009, President George W. Bush, acting on a suggestion from President-elect Barack Obama, invited George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter for lunch. It was the first time since 1981 that all living presidents were together at the White House.
