Today's UPDATES

I've been having trouble sleeping for the past two nights, but last night took a toll on me. I has been twice tweeting while watching WWE SmackDown Live and I dozed off to sleep and missed the last 10 or 15 minutes of the show. In fact, I was asleep for a whole hour and I was in a very tiresome state, but I can tell you who else was in a very tiresome state, the Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs, let Max Sports explain it all for you. Last night was the official start of the 2018 MLB Postseason, with the National League Wild Card Game between these two teams who lost the chance at winning their respective divisions last night. The Rocks traveled from LA to Chicago after losing to the Dodgers and would take on a Cubs team that was leading at the very top of the National League for such a long time, but were knocked down the mountain by the Brewers. Last night's NL Wild Card game was to determine who got to face said Brewers in the NLDS tomorrow, and who knows what it would have been like if the Cubs went to Milwaukee and took on the team who took away their division title opportunity. Here's what happened: Rockies player Charlie Blackmon was able to reached in third base in the top of the first inning after being walked to first and then DJ LeMahieu hit a ground rule double to deep left center field, and Nolan Arenado hit a sacrifice fly in order to bring in Blackmon for the first run of the game. There had not been another run made until the eighth inning when the Subs' Anthony Rizzo singled to center and was replaced with pitch runner Terrance Gore, and after Gore stole second base, Javier Báez doubled to center allowing Gore to score and tying the game at 1-1. It took four extra innings to end this game once and for all, the cubs and a couple of chance to make a walk-off comeback, but in the top of the 13th, the Rockies' Trevor Story and Gerardo Parra hit back-to-back singles with two outs. Not long after that, Tony Wolters hit a tiebreaking single and the Colorado Rockies would beat the Chicago Cubs 2-1 on last night in an epic NL wild-card game. So now, the Rocks will take on the Brewers tomorrow in the NLDS while the Cubs have to coupe with the fact they lost twice on their own home field in Chicago after losing on the NL Central Division and the Wild Card; tune in tonight for the American League WIld Card game in New York between the A's and Yankees on TBS, to see which one one of them will face the Red Sox in the ALDS on Friday.

For more the Colorado Rockies' gigantic victory last night, today's #TwitterTrend offers up the best reactions on twitter from fans, sports analysts and former players who may have stayed up passed 1AM last night to see them beat the Chicago Cubs in such great fashion. These two teams were in some pretty heated matchups during the regular season this year and had split the season series at three games a piece, and interesting enough scored 33 runs a piece, they had the best pitching matchup last night between Jon Lester and Kyle Freeland, and the best offensive players on their teams such as Anthony Rizzo and Tony Wolters. So when it comes down to just more game with the right to advance in the MLB Postseason, we finally learned who has been the most superior this season, and these tweets say it all.
ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo
The @Cubs and @Rockies have never faced each other in the postseason.

But these two teams were pretty evenly matched this season.

Like really even.

MLB @MLB
Just like that, the @Rockies strike first at Wrigley. #WildCard
John Cusack @johncusack
Cubs do or die - mr Bryant at work !
Chicago Cubs @Cubs
Six innings, nine Ks for @JLester34!
ESPN @espn
-Longest postseason game in Wrigley Field history
-Longest winner-take-all game in postseason history

We're into the 13th inning on ESPN.

Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs
Cubs/Rockies starting up in the NL wild card game. Lester v Freeland. Win or go home. Here. We . Go.

Thomas Harding @harding_at_mlb
A pick of #Cubs Ben Zobrist, called out on the field, is going to replay

Thomas Harding @harding_at_mlb
If you're watching on TV, remember the camera from center field at Wrigley is offset. The angle is a lot more dead-on in some parks. Not defending or arguing a call. Just adding context.

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN
Kyle Freeland is absolutely dominating tonight, so far. The Rockies' staff knew that it wanted Freeland to pitch the Wildcard Game, if necessary, but didn't approach him with it until Saturday. His response: "Yeah, I figured." Other Rockies incredibly impressed w/ his steadiness.

Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs
Lester with 8 K's through 5. But he trails 1-0.

Kelly Crull @Kelly_Crull
Holy Gore...holy Javy...the #Cubs have tied this game up in the 8th. Wrigley going nuts...fans at home, how you doing?

Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs
Extras in the wild card game. Woo boy.  Cole Hamels takes over

Jayson Stark @jaysonst
Last win-or-go-home postseason game to go extra innings?

I’ll give you a hint. The #Cubs were involved. And it was raining in Cleveland.

Alex Rodriguez @AROD
The winning run is on base! @cubs and @rockies down to the wire! #nlwildcard

Jeff Passan @JeffPassan
Of course it's the Rockies' third catcher who gives them the lead. Tony Wolters, two-strike single, Rockies up 2-1.

Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiCubs
Cubs season ends in a 2-1, 13 inning loss. Back to back 1 run games to end it.

Adam McCalvy @AdamMcCalvy
Rockies-Brewers in the NLDS. Another Suds Series.

Time for a #JustSoYouKnow moment, there are 35 Days left until the 2018 Midterms Elections begin on November 6th. I have been looking forward to this the moment since #45 was elected two years, 'cause since then things have been chaotic in America. So many predictions and key races are popping out everyday as it seems like we might been headed to some sort of Democratic blue wave according to the media and other cable news channels. But one ting that I am most looking forward to on November 6th is the LIVE Election Night coverage from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Comedy Central, and earlier this week CBS announced it would do the same with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which air another LIVE broadcast since the State of the Union address last January. Last night, political journalist and NBC News correspondent Steve Kornacki appear on The Late Show last night to talk about the Midterms and his new book titled "The Red and the Blue: The 1990s and the Birth of Political Tribalism," and I have the full interview right down below for #KlicKNet viewers who are looking forward to voting as well as I am.
