Today's UPDATES

After months and months of hard-hitting baseball, we have now reached the point where 2 teams are left standing in the MLB, both of them vying for the World Series Championship. In today's Max Sports rundown, we take a good look at the first time World Series match between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers, the first thing you need to know is the records that these two teams put together in order to get into the positions that they were in before the postseason started. The Red Sox finished the regular season with a 108–54 record, they would win the AL East division title for the third consecutive season, and was the first MLB team to post 100 wins during the season, reaching such a milestone for the first time since 1946. They set a new franchise record for wins in a season by surpassing the prior mark of 105 that had been set in 1912; they also won the most games by any MLB team since the 2001 Seattle Mariners won 116. The Red Sox would enter the postseason as the top seed in the American League, and after defeating the Yankees in 4 games in the ALDS, they then defeated the defending World Series champions Houston Astros in five games in the ALCS. The Dodgers had started the regular season at 16–26 and had lost nine games in an 11 game stretch in mid-August, but that did not stop from making the postseason for the sixth straight year by winning the NL West division in a Game 163 over the Colorado Rockies. Dodges ended the regular season with a 92–71 record, they would enter the postseason as a second seed and went on to beat the Atlanta Braves in 4 games in the NLDS and the Milwaukee Brewers in a hard-fought NLCS that featured 7 games, and since they won Game 7 of a League Championship Series on the road, they become the first team to do that in either league since the 2006 St. Louis Cardinals. Plus, they were the first team to make the World Series by winning their tie-breaker game since the 2007 Rockies, who also faced Boston in that year's World Series and lost, but that was then, this is now 2018. Technically, this is the second World Series match-up between the Dodgers and Red Sox since 1916, when the Dodgers were called the Brooklyn Robins and lost to the Red Sox in four games, One last fact, the last time Boston appeared in a World Series and won the title was in 2013 against the Cardinals, and LA last won a championship 30 years ago in 1998 against the Athletics, but their last appearance in the World Series was last year in 2017 when they lost to the Astros. So here we are after months and months of hard-hitting baseball to sew new Champions of Major League Baseball over the next couple of days, starting tonight when LA come to Fenway Park in Game 1 and put their starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw up against Boston's Chris Sale as we bear witness to a World Series like no other.

We know that not everything we see on television is real, and last night, at the start of WWE Monday Night Raw, we were hit with a douse of reality. Roman Reigns came in normal clothes rather than his SHIELD gear and would announced that eleven years ago he was hit with a rare cancer called leukemia, and for over a year he's been trying to keep his promise that could would be a fighting champion, a work horse if you well and work night after night as a WWE Superstar. But now his leukemia is back, and therefore Reigns had to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship in order to head home and try and fight this terrible disease once again. All I can say is that my thoughts and prayers are with Roman Reigns (Joe AnoaΚ»i) until he comes back from this and return to his true potential as butt-whooping, Superman punching, Spear destroying Son of a Gun. In the wake of this dark news, it was later announced that at WWE Crown Jewel, Braun Strowman would Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, and speaking of championship, last night's main event of Raw featured a Tag Team Title match with two-thirds of The SHIELD, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, paying homage to their long-time partner and brother-in-arms Reigns with their own SHIELD gear. They would take on Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre for the Raw Tag Titles in an impressive match which would be halted for a moment with the referee knocked down and Braun Strowman would come out to get his hands on McIntyre who knocked the Big Man down with a Claymore earlier in the night. With McIntyre separated Ziggler, Rollins and Ambrose would take advantage and win the Raw Tag Team Championships once again. But then all of a sudden, the unthinkable would happened in the worst possible time, Dean Ambrose would hit Dirty Deeds on Seth Rollins after they just won the titles and wouldn't stop until he hit another one on the exposed concrete floor outside the ring. After the show ended, I said to myself all night, "What has become of this show?" I didn't want to saw it before but Raw has been a complete lately, and while SmackDown remain a well-oiled machine after its 1,000th episode last week, but anyway, this latest #TwitterTrend on #KlicKNet is going leave the viewers beside themselves with much mixed emotions.

EXCLUSIVE: Moments after announcing that his returning leukemia has forced him to relinquish the Universal Championship, @WWERomanReigns is met with an outpouring of support backstage. #Raw
John Canton @johnreport
Very emotional start to #Raw with Roman Reigns announcing he has leukemia and needs to obviously step away from wrestling. He gave a great speech, the fans chanted his name and supported him. He gave up the Universal Title. Then he got a hug from his Shield brothers. God bless.

Didn’t think we’d ever see a turn like that in the modern era. On tonight of all nights. Pure heat πŸ”₯ #RAW

Ryan Satin @ryansatin
This was the right call, in my opinion. Everyone has been wanting this since Dean Ambrose returned and it made all the sense in the world to pull that trigger tonight. Now we’ve potentially got Braun, Seth and Elias as top faces with Dean, Dolph and Drew as the top heels.

Oh maaaaaan. The camera catching that guy in the crowd in Dean Ambrose's face screaming "WHY MAN, WHY!?" It was so good!

BREAKING NEWS out of DC and Warner Bros. Wonder Woman 1984 has been pushed back from November 1, 2019 to June 5, 2020. Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot tweeted the news yesterday saying: "Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. Be there or be square!!!" According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Relocating Wonder Woman 1984 means that it won't open mere weeks after Warners launches Todd Phillips' supervillain pic Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, on Oct. 4, 2019" which I did not know until now. In the light of this story, Sony Pictures has decided to move its Charlie’s Angels reboot back five weeks from September 27, 2019 to November 1, 2019, to fill the slot vacated by Wonder Woman 1984. For more on WW84, check out this new Web Choice playlist about the news of the new film being release within two years to the Summer of 2020, and the reaction online is pretty amazing.
