Today's UPDATES

Every year on this date, I have shared my thoughts on the tragic events of the September 11th, 2001 attacks from 17 years ago. But not today, because this will be a 9/11-free post and the only thing that I am most concern about at the moment is Sam Darnold and his regular season debut with the New York Jets last night, Max Sports explains. Boy oh boy, was it ever a crazy debut for Mr. Sam, in his first pass in the NFL, Darnold was intercepted by Quandre Diggs of the Detroit Lions for a pick six, and on the Jets' very first offensive play of the season. The crazy thing about that is that Brett Favre threw of pick six in his very first career throw in the NFL, and looked how things turned out for him. A couple of plays later, Isaiah Crowell got the offense going with a six-yard touchdown run, tying the game in the first quarter at 7 points a piece, in the second quarter, the Jets lead by a field goal made by their newest kicker Jason Myers and then the Sam Darnold Era kicked into high gear, for Darnold threw a 41 Yard touchdown pass to Robby Anderson, allowing them to go up 17-7 at halftime. The Lions were able to tied the game at 17 in the third quarter when Matt Stafford threw a 24 Yard TD pass to Golden Tate, but by then it was complete dominance by the Jets, Darnold threw a 21 Yard TD pass to Quincy Enunwa, Darron Lee intercepted Stanford for 36 Yard pick six, Andre Roberts got himself 78 Yard punt return touchdown, and to cap off the night Crowell ran for a 62 Yard TD Run. The Jets defense showed what their made of as well, getting five interceptions on the Lions offense which was so bad, Matt Stafford was hurt, Lions' new head coach Matt Patrica was shaking his head in disbelief, amd Lions fans were leaving Ford Field one by one as they could not bear to watch this game any longer. Once the fourth quarter, the only fans loyal enough to stick around were Jets fans and they were electric watch their team dominate all the way to a 48-17 victory. I look forward to what else Sam Darnold has to offer this season for every game will get tougher and tougher every week, #klicKNet readers can look forward now to the latest results in the NFL, MLB and WWE right down below.

Los Angeles Rams 33. Oakland Raiders 13

Quick recap on the last NFL game of Week 1, the Los Angles Rams took on the Oakland Raiders, and these two have such a history together, they use to play in Los Angeles until they 1994, but then the Rams moved from St. Louis and came back to LA in 2016 one year before the Chargers moved their as well. The drama between all three teams has been overwhelming due to the plague of stadium issues, but soon in 2020 all three team will be playing new stadiums, Chargers and Rams will share one in LA, while the Raiders go to the new stadium being built in Las Vegas. Moving back to last night, Marshawn Lynch ran a 10 Yard TD Run for the Raiders in the first quarter, but the Rams returned the favor when Todd Gurley II caught a 19 Yard ED pass from Jared Groff tying the game at 7. Not anther touchdown was made until the quarter as both teams would score a pair of field goals, Cooper Kupp caught a 8 Yard touchdown pass from Groff allowing the Rams to go up 20-13 at the end of the third. The fourth quarter was all about the Rams as they would get two more field goals and a 50 Yard interception touchdown return by Marcus Peters to cap off a 33-13 win over the Raiders. Of course, the look of disappointment from the Raiders fans were nothing compared to the look on the face of Lions fans last night and they have made their way as the subject of the following #TwitterTrend. Being at home against the youngest player to start at quarterback in 48 years is not as fun as it looks, as the Lions would eventually find out, they were down 31 points in the third quarter to the Jets, causing fans to leave the stadium and first-year coach Matt Patricia to be lambasted in the process.

The Jets win their opener by beating the Lions 48-17. It's the Jets' 2nd-largest season-opening win in team history.

Their 48 points set a franchise record for most in a road game.

Sam Darnold is the first QB to win his first start by 31 or more points since Tom Brady in 2001.

Matt Patricia’s defenses in his last 3 games:

Jets w/ a rookie QB = 48 points
Eagles w/ a backup QB = 41 points
Blake Bortles = 300 passing yards

Great hire, Detroit.

Peter King @peter_king
Lions’ performance is worst of week 1, worse than Buffalo’s. Detroit’s home, Detroit’s got a QB, Detroit should be getting a boost from a new coach.
Patricia’s mentor would fire a couple of players in the wake of a game like this. Will he?

WWE is gearing up for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view this Sunday in San Antonio, Texas. Last night on Monday Night Raw, we got a major update on the match card regarding the Universal Championship match that will take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Mijc Foley returned to Raw after last appearing in March 2017, he still remembers that faithful night in June 1998 when he was thrown off the top of the cell by The Undertaker and even through the cell and straight down to the ring. You have no idea what that feels like, but Foley does and it's part of the reason why he had to retire from wrestling so early in his career. but now 20 Years later, he will be apart of Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman's Hell in a Cell match as the special guest referee. Although, this is not the first time Mick Foley has done this, we was the special guest referee for the 2003 Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Kevin Nash for the World Heavyweight Championship, so it's going to be fun for me to see Foley inside the cell in real-life this Sunday than watching some replay of him on the internet. Hopefully we will call this match for the Universal Championship right down the middle because keep in mind, this is Strowman's Money in the Bank cash-in match, he's not going wait until Reigns is too beatdown to fight back, and that is a very gusty move by a man who in my estimation is twice as tall as me. Stay tuned #KlicKNet viewers because the following Web Choice playlist has some of the best moments from Monday Night Raw last night.
