Today's UPDATES

WWE SummerSlam is not complete this year without what comes the night before, and that would be NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4, see what all the buzz is about that in this hot new Max Sports rundown. For the fourth straight year, NXT is taking over the Barclays Center Brooklyn, New York and this year's match card could be the best one yet, we have matches that has been building up since the United Kingdom Championship Tournament at the Royal Albert Hall two months ago. First, Moustache Mountain's Tyler Bate and Trent Seven defeated The Undisputed Era's Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong at Royal Albert Hall to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship, but the The Era was able to win back the titles in a rematch a few weeks later on NXT. While Moustache Mountain get their rematch in Brooklyn, EC3 looks for some payback against Velveteen Dream who left the former high and dry in a tag team match against Aleister Black and Ricochet during the U.K. Tournament, so it was announced last week on NXT that these two will face each at TakeOver: Brooklyn 4. Also announced last week for Brooklyn is Adam Cole defending the NXT North American Championship against the One and Only Ricochet and these have been in a heated rivalry when Cole first refused Ricochet's challenge the North American Title. The NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 will be a rematch of last year's Mae Young Classic Final, current champion Shayna Baszler defends against Kairi Sane, but things will be different from last year namely because Baszler has become more dangerous than ever. Finally, there's the NXT Championship which somehow has fallen into the hands of Tommaso Ciampa who won it in a match two weeks on NXT when Johnny Gargano inadvertently hit then-champion Aleister Black with the title belt allowing Ciampa to take a big advantage and win the belt for himself. I's going to real interesting as to how all of this will effect NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 in a couple of days, but in the meantime take a look at the ever-growing SummerSlam lineup and results from last night's SmackDown and 205 Live events.

We've been wondering for years if Carmelo Anthony would ever sign with the Houston Rockets, the rumor has nearly become a reality, and it has become the subject of today's #TwitterTrend. Yesterday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reported that Anthony, the former Knicks player and veteran forward verbally agreed to sign with the Rockets after he was cleared of waivers by the Atlanta Hawks. I can tell you who most happy about this piece of news and that is the Houston Rockets, especially Chris Paul who has been friends with Carmelo Anthony from years in the NBA. Shams Charania stated that Anthony was cleared of free agency waivers last week and he was able to inform Houston of his decision to sign with the upon his return from Africa. The Rockets are going to need all the help they can get if they want contend with the Golden State Warriors once next season and in the playoffs next year, but for now people have expressed their feelings about the upcoming signing on social media and here's is what some of them had to say.

Will the Hawks do a Carmelo tribute video next season when the Rockets visit Atlanta? Hell, they did one for Dwight. https://www.si.com/nba/2018/08/01/carmelo-anthony-rockets-offseason-james-harden-chris-paul?utm_campaign=sinow&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&xid=socialflow_twitter_si

A big #JustSoYouKnow moment is coming at you right now, yesterday The CW announced they have settled on what actress will play Catwoman in the network's next Arrowverse crossover. That actress' name is Ruby Rose and she has one of the best resumes that I have seen in a long time, she had a breakout role in Netflix's Orange is the New Black, she appeared on Lip Sync Battle and in movies such as Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, John Wick: Chapter 2 and Pitch Perfect 3. This Friday, people can see her in the new movie called The Meg also starring Jason Statham, but understand this important fact, Rose came out as a lesbian at the age of twelve which is perfect for playing Kathy Kane who, in the DC Comics, is an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter. It's going to real fun to see her join Stephen Amell's Green, Grant who plays The Flash, and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl in what is going to be one of the best crossovers on The CW, despite the fact that Legends of Tomorrow will not be involved in it. Come to think of it, this moment just became something more right now, 'cause I have put together a Web Choice playlist which some YouTubers' best reaction to the casting of Batwoman.
