Today's UPDATES

I hardly slept at all last night, because I was supposed to see Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp like I said before yesterday but my sister couldn't take us because her car was missing. By missing I mean it wasn't anywhere near the house, I not going to say where it is right now or explain the whole situation because it's really between me and my sister and not for anyone else to know. I could see the movie tomorrow since movie tickets are always half priced on Tuesday but I promised my sister I would wait untill she was ready to take me which between now and next weekend, and we have our Trip to Dorney Park next week. However speaking of next weekend, WWE's July pay-per-view is coming Sunday, July 15th, the night before we go to Dorney Park for three days, and there are a lot ot matchups that we need discuss, and we'll do in it in today's Max Sports rundown. Interestingly enough, the event will be held at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that's nearly 270-300 miles away from Dorney Park and are both at separate ends of the state of Pennsylvania. Moving back to Extreme Rules, Seth Rollins looks to regain the Intercontinental Championship from Dolph Ziggler, but he'll have to do it in a 30-Minute Iron Man match, last Monday on Raw, Nia Jax rematch for the Raw Women's Championship against Alexa Bliss was made an Extreme Rules match, and Bobby Lashley will take on Roman Reigns as their current feud has reached to new heights. Meanwhile for SmackDown, Jeff Hardy will defend the United Stated Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, Team Hell No was able to secure their two-on-two match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles after defeating the Usos last Tuesday; but they still have their hands full come Sunday against the Bludgeon Brothers, and AJ Styles will face his toughest challenge to date against Rusev for the WWE Championship. See the rest of the matchups for Extreme Rules, plus more MLB results, NBA Free Agency tracking and the matchup for the World Cup semifinals.

Despite the fact that I did not see Ant-Man and The Wasp this past weekend, I can tell you this, it did very well in its opening weekend at the box office. The Marvel Studios sequel to the 2015 Ant-Man film made a strong debut, while Disney/Pixar's Incredibles 2 and Universal Pictures' Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had maintained their box office success. As a matter of fact, each movie made the top 3 spots in Box Office Top 10 on movietickets.com, with Ant-Man and The Wasp grossing $76 million dollars domestically in the US and Canada, and grossed $85 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $161 million. The first Ant-Man film made $57.2 million in its domestic opening weekend three years ago, so today's numbers for Ant-Man and The Wasp prove that the sequel is doing a better job than the original and maybe the final total number for the sequel's worldwide record will be much higher than the original film. So see more on Ant-Man and The Wasp's box office stats, today's #TwitterTrend gives the best reactions to the news about the film's financial success as well as the success of Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

FYI I really enjoyed ANT-MAN AND THE WASP! Fine family fun! Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are charming as hell! Also the combined ageless power of Rudd and Michelle Pfeiffer is Too Strong.

b-boy bouiebaisse @jbouie
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is probably in my top four MCU movies? Lighthearted, small stakes, very funny, and great, inventive action. Michael Peña and Randall Park are MVPs, Evangeline Lilly is amazing as The Wasp.

Robert “The DCD" Workman- Hey, it's summer! @thedcd
"Ant-Man and the Wasp only made $76 million in its opening weekend. Here comes the superhero fatigue."

Um...that was more money than the original Ant-Man opened with and it's likely to make $200 million domestic alone. That's not a bomb.

david @notttdave
how the hell did y'all let Jurassic World pass Black Panther at the box office

Gregory Iron @GregoryIron
I saw Jurassic World II yesterday. Not understanding all the hate and mixed reviews that I read online.

Solid film, I feel.

BuzzFeed News @BuzzFeedNews
It's been a record-breaking year for movies so far, but just two companies — Disney and 20th Century Fox — account for nearly half of all the domestic box office

Something major went down at UFC 226 in Las Vegas last Saturday that sent shock waves down the spines of UFC Fans and somehow WWE fans in the process. For you see, current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier faced Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship last Saturday and won the fight via knockout in the first round, thus becoming only one of two fighters to hold two UFC championships simultaneously. But after the fight, things became absolutely crazy because current WWE Universal Champion and former UFC star Brock Lesnar was provoked by Cormier who wanted to fight him. So Lesnar emerged from the audience, came into the UFC octagon and shoved Cormier right in the chest, this would all lead to Cormier challenging Lesnar to a future UFC fight. Brock Lesnar gratefully accepted the fight, but WWE fans (like myself) maybe wondering what does this mean for the Lesnar's status as the WWE Universal Champion, he'll likely defend the title at SummerSlam next month in Brooklyn, but who knows what will happen until then, but for now, see these Web Choice approved videos where Lesnar and Cormier got into to other's faces and lead to a whole lot of talk backstage.
