Today's UPDATES

A lot to get to today, but we start off now with a new Max Sports rundown regarding WWE. Yesterday, the wrestling company officially announced the future of its two flagship shows, SmackDown LIVE will be moving to Fridays on the FOX Broadcast Network beginning on October 4, 2019, and Monday Night Raw will remain on the USA Network thanks to a five-year extension that NBC was able to close out with the WWE. SmackDown Live's five-year agreement with Fox is worth $205 million dollars annually and is worth $1.025 billion over the next five years while the Raw deal is reportedly worth $265 million dollars annually. For according to Bloomberg.com, "WWE's shares have surged as much as 15 percent in early New York trading, and an analyst from MKM Partners LLC says that the deals will lift the company's TV revenue by 170 percent." But it's not all about money, it's about giving the fans of the WWE Universe the best wrestling entertainment as possible, it seems as though SmackDown Live will still be a weekly, two-hour, live event when it moves over to FOX for 52 weeks a year, and with 21st Century Fox selling its major assets to either Disney or Comcast, the "New Fox" company is trying to center its broadcast network around more  live events and sports. It's going to be real interesting to see Thursday Night Football and Friday Night SmackDown on the same network next year and how the FOX schedule will look like by then, one thing that is interesting right now is the reuniting of Daniel Bryan and Kane on SmackDown last night. That's right, Team HELL NO is back and they plan to challenge the Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules. If that weren't enough, check out last night's results of the MLB games and WWE shows that are sure to get things moving today.

It's time for another installment of #JustSoYowKnow, the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia is building towards its Round of 16 Knockout Stage and so far we have eight teams who have qualified for it. Croatia has had a perfect record in this tournament and eliminated Iceland in a 2-1 victory, they will take on Denmark in the Knockout Stage. Croatia's win had helped Argentina make to the next round, the latter of course defeated Nigeria 2-1 which makes them and Croatia the two winners of Group D. France and Denmark were in a heated battle to take the top spot in Group C, but either one could beat the other which resulted in 0-0 tied game between them, but France was given top spot and will now face Argentina in the next round while Denmark meets Croatia. Russia, the host city of the World Cup, saw it team go from the top spot of Group A to the second after losing to Ugrancy 3-0, so now Russia will take on Spain in the Round of 16 while Uruguay has a date with Portgaul. The rest of the field should be completed by tomorrow, and teams like Brazil, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Germany, England, Japan and Senegal are looking to continue their run in the World Cup, but in the meantime, check out a couple of tournament highlights from the past week and a half.
