Today's UPDATES

It's no surprise that the top two West teams in the NBA will duke it out for the Western Conference Championship, here's a Max Sports rundown to explain. Chris Paul of the Houston Rockets had an All-Star heck of a night last night, getting a double-double with 41 points and 10 Assists. This would help the Rockets keep pace with the Utah Jazz who were determine not to lose and found a way to take the lead for a few moments. But the Rockets showed exactly why they are they have been the best team overall in the NBA this season, and eliminated the Jazz from the playoffs with a 112-102 win. Following that, the Golden State Warriors were only one win away from getting back to the Western Conference Finals in their quest to defend the NBA Championship, all they needed was to beat the New Orleans Pelicans one last time. Despite the 34 points that Anthony Davis put up for the Pelicans, Steph Curry once again led the Warriors to victory and put up 28 points in the process. In the end, the Warriors won the series four games to one with 113-104 home win, now it's off to this coming Monday in Game One when the Rockets battle the Warriors in the West Finals, and there's a lot of hype going into the series. Tonight, the Boston Celtics are still in control of their own destiny as take on Philadelphia 76ers in a Win or Go Home Game 5, with a trip to the Eastern Finals and a date with the Cleveland Cavaliers on the line. Catch everything you need to know about the latest updates within the NBA Playoffs as well the NHL Playoffs.

The Rockets and Warriors wins last night were very big last night because All-Star players like Chris Paul, Steph Curry and Draymond Green leading their respective teams. As I said before, the first game in the Western Conference Finals will start on Monday which gives both the Rockets and Warriors plenty of time for rest, but we're to talk about the past history between these two. The Rockets had won the regular season series 2-1 over the Warriors, having won the Season Opener in October and then on January 20th in a Saturday Night game that the Rocks scored 116 points over the Dubs' 108. Aside from all that, these two teams have met each other twice in the playoffs,  three years ago the Warriors and Rockets were in the Western Finals and it was the Warriors who came out on top with 4-1 series win, this would lead to the Warriors winning over the Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals. The following year in 2016, the Warriors defeated the Rockets in a first round series with the same result of winning four games to one. Since then, things have changed as the Warriors acquired Kevin Durant who helped win another championship last year, and the Rockets were able to get Chris Paul who has led to sixty-five wins this past regular season and will soon appear in his first Conference Finals in his career. The best highlights of last night's performances from Houston and Golden State can be found in today's #TwitterTrend as fans and sports analysts speak their minds on what both teams have accomplished.

Rob Perez @World_Wide_Wob
I feel like Chris Paul just spent the last two hours retweeting old memes about him live on a basketball court

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA
Other than a couple of bad high-profile moments (mostly OKC '14)-- and boy do those count against him on the old post-season resume -- CP has been doing this in the playoffs for a long time. He is a bad, bad man.

Meanwhile: that was a great, great season for Utah. Such a bummer it ends w/ Mitchell getting hurt in a close 4Q, but that team just keeps fighting. Excited to see them next season.
