Today's UPDATES

Two Days, that's how many that stands between us and the Biggest Cinematic Event Ever, I am dying to see Avengers: Infinity War. Only a real idiot would crazy enough not to see it because they would not be apart of movie history and bear witness to something that was more than just a War for Survival. Tonight is a war for survival in a Winner Take All Game Seven between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs with the prize beginning a trip to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs where the Tampa Bay Lightning have been waiting for the winner. Meanwhile in the NBA Playoffs, the Sixers and Warriors were the next teams to clinch a spot in the Conference Semi-Finals last night, and while the Sixers wait for their next opponents, the Warriors have a date with the Pelicans who advanced to the Conference Semis early last week. The thing that could make this series special is that it might mean that Steph Curry will return from injury and finally play ball in the playoffs with his teammates. Warriors-Pelicans is also a rematch from the 2015 Playoffs in which the Dubs swept the Pelicans 4-0 on their quest to win Golden State's second championship in franchise history, but New Orleans are a different team than they were before and are still the underdogs against Golden State. So tonight, the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets are in position to make it to the next round if they can close out their respective series with their opponents, and here a more approved Max Sports update at the remaining playoff series for this week.

Today in our #TwitterTrend, we will discuss just how big of an impact Avengers: Infinity War will make in theaters. According to Deadline.com, the upcoming Marvel Studios film could break tons of box office records, two of which are currently held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Fate of the Furious. It has been projected that Infinity War will make about $220 million dollars at the box office in its Opening Weekend alone, but that could go up to $275 Million which would be enough to beat out The Force Awakens' $247.97 million. Last year, The Fate of the Furious broke the record for the biggest worldwide opening weekend in cinematic history with between $539-542 million dollars, right now Infinity War is projected to make about $498 million for its worldwide opener this weekend, so it's not even in the $500 million mark at the moment, but the numbers have changed and it more than likely that Infinity War will even beat Black Panther which took the entire planet by surprise. Moving on a more serious topic, this new film and other MCU films from the past have sad to be lacking one thing, diversity. According to Mic.com, the MCU has largely given the lead role of its movies to white and have left a small amount of room for any other of gender or color. The same can be said for the writing and directing of these movie which have been dominated by white people, and its quite obvious that Marvel fans what to see more nonwhites play a much bigger role when it comes to the MCU.  A lot of Marvel fans are speculating on whether or not Infinity War will hand this situation and if it can make history at the box office, and if you want more details on them, please check the following tweets down below to find out what you want to know.

🤷🏻‍♂️ @justjoshuaaa
I’m so excited to see how much Infinity War makes at the box office. I’m going to say $1.8 billion.

ethanwho @ehsann_is_here
im betting avengers infinity war will reach 1 billion in box office in the first week

Not Ammaar 🕵🏻 @idkammaar97
Listen if Avengers Infinity War can't top Avatar box office-wise...what can??

Masked Embiid @lanovsop
If you don’t believe Infinity War is outpacing Black Panther at the box office you’re sadly mistaken

Max Evry @maxevry
Those predicting #InfinityWar will beat #BlackPanther at the box office... doubtful. Rewatchability factor not even close to Coogler’s movie. It’ll be super front-loaded. It’s not a full meal, so audiences will likely have their fill of it until Part 4 resolves all next year.

Critics have noted for years that the MCU has largely put white men at its center, leaving little room for anyone else
Mic @mic
That controversy came to a head in 2016, surrounding the casting of Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange as the Ancient One, a character from Marvel comics that’s traditionally depicted as Asian.
Mic @mic
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has addressed these concerns publicly, assuring critics that moving forward, the MCU will be more diverse.

So we examined the racial and gender breakdowns of Marvel movies over the past 10 years, starting with 'Iron Man,' which debuted in May 2008. Here’s what we found: https://mic.com/articles/188957/10-years-in-the-marvel-cinematic-universe-still-lacks-diversity-and-these-4-graphs-prove-it#.Rs57swOO6
Mic @mic
About two-thirds of the actors who’ve gotten top billing in a Marvel movie are white
Mic @mic
A woman has never led a Marvel movie — but 2019's 'Captain Marvel' will change that
Mic @mic
You can count the people of color who have written or directed a Marvel movie on one hand
Mic @mic
Only one woman has written or directed a Marvel movie so far. That number will increase significantly in 2019
Mic @mic
10 years in, the Marvel Cinematic Universe still lacks diversity — and these 4 graphs prove it

Nyle DiMarco @NyleDiMarco
Disability is also a part of diversity, @mic. HawkEye is actually Deaf and MARVEL Cinematic Universe made the character hearing.
