Today's UPDATES

Things are looking up for WWE, next year will be the 2018 Royal Rumble LIVE from the Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the WWE Network. The thing that makes this event so important is none other than the 30-Man Royal Rumble match where one man walks out of that match the winner and will have earn themselves an opportunity to compete in a World Championship match at WrestleMania. But before that night begins, there's also NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, where Andrade “Cien” Almas will defend this newly won NXT Championship against the winner of an #1 Contender's Tournament that is taking place right now in NXT. There's only one pay-per-view left 2017 and it's an SmackDown exclusive event called Clash of Champions, last Tuesday night on SmackDown Live, Commissioner Shane McMahon made an announcement that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn would take on the team of Randy Orton and a partner of Orton's choosing. At the end of the show, Orton chose Shinsuke Nakamura, but there was more added to the tag team match at Clash of Champions, Shane McMahon named himself the special guest referee and said that if Owens and Zayn don't win their match, they would be fired from WWE. The story behind this is the fact that Owens and Zayn has been trying to sabotage SmackDown Live with their selfish attitudes which had cost Shane McMahon that gruesome Hell in a Cell in October and cost Team SmackDown the main event of Survivor Series against Team Raw against. So Shane McMahon is making sure that Justice is served because one way or another, the antics of Owens and Zayn must end. Max Sports has an update on the match card for Clash of Champions as well as the first matches of the NXT Championship #1 Contender Tournament set up and ready to go.

A couple of weeks ago we talked about how Paramount was planning to bring the classic Nickelodeon show "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" to life on the big screen. Well now that idea might soon become a reality, yesterday Paramount that the film adaptation would have a release date on October 11th, 2019, so we don't have to wait long to see one of the greatest children shows of the 90s become a featured film. Gary Dauberman, one of the brains behind the horror hit "It", will be writing and producing this new project and he said to The Hollywood Reporter that: "The show is about the shared experience of telling stories — especially scary ones. We're going to celebrate that with this movie and honor the darker, scarier tone of the show, which was really groundbreaking for Nickelodeon at the time. I hope the Midnight Society approves." A lot of 90s fans, including me, are really excited about this and they will be honored and featured in today's #TwitterTrend with the tweets that they have shared online.
