Today's UPDATES

This the final week of #KlicKNet for 2017, and how will we cap off a year that was just as over the top than 2016? Very earlier this year, we were all hoping for 2017 to come so we could put the god awful 2016 behind us in the rear view mirror, but as it turns that when Donald Trump was sworn into office back in January, the country would be in disarray . I don't talk about my personal life very much, but this year, I have had a ton of issues with my family and some of them regards my future, next year I will be 22-years-old which means I'm going in deeper and deeper into adulthood. Things haven't always gone my way these past few years just like things go the right for the teams of the NFL, as if the Carolina Panthers owner putting his team up for sale wasn't crazy enough, yesterday's games were absolutely crazy in their own rights. For now, Max Sports is only going to cover three games that I think will tell the story of the entire playoff picture.

First, there;s the dominance of the surprising Jacksonville Jaguars who continue to leave everyone stunned in disbelief, they are now 10-4 after dismantling the Houston Texans 45-7, meaning they are in prime position of their own division. The Los Angeles Rams were woken up to the challenge of the seattle Seahawks and absolutely crushed them 42-7  with the help of Todd Gurley who rushed for 152 yards and scored four total touchdowns in just 2 1/2 quarters. This win puts the Rams in control the NFC West and much sooner will they clinch a spot in the Playoffs. Finally, the Pittsburgh Steelers had all the chance in the world to put the New Eng;and Patriots on ice and take total control of the #1 Seed in the AFC, all they had to do was get one more touchdown in the last of the 4th quarter and they win. The Steelers lost Antonio Brown in the second due to a leg injury making done for the season, they fought back diligently against the Patriots and it all came down to a 10-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left in the game . The play was overturned because apparently the tight end Jesse James  twisted his way into the end zone, and the ball did not "survive the ground" as it shifted, so therefore it wasn't a catch. So then, Ben Roethlisberger hit Darrius Heyward-Bey for a short gain on the next snap, but he was tackled in bounds. The clock was running and the Steelers had no timeouts left, they hurried to the line and rather than spike it to set up a short kick, Roethlisberger tried to win it. His plan backfired as the Patriots intercept the ball in the end zone and the game was over in dramatic fashion. That 27-24 win put the Patriots in the driver's seat of the AFC Conference, but it's not over yet, so there's a lot these teams can still play for down the stretch.

The Steelers' potential game-winning touchdown that was called back after refs ruled that the receiver didn't maintain possession to the ground is still the most-talked about on social media and the whole football community is beside itself. That last minute call was just like what happened with the New York Jets when they were playing the Patriots earlier on in the season, they had a touchdown that was called by the referees as a turnover to the Patriots, and I think that the refs robbed the Jets of that game and now the same has happened to the Steelers. They scratched and clawed they way to the top of the AFC and now their chances of clinching the home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs are surely lost now, the Steelers have lost to New England and Jacksonville meaning that they don't have the tiebreakers needed over both teams. To see what others have about last night's controversial last-minute call during the Steelers-Patriots game, I have kindly put together a #TwitterTrend that you need to check out for yourselves.

Here is the catch rule applicable to the overturned call on Jesse James' potential go-ahead TD reception:

Colton Underwood @Colt3FIVE
FYI a “football move” is extending the ball over the goal line... for a touchdown

NFL_IRONMAN @LFletcher59
Roethlisbeger has been in the league too long to make that throw

Shea Serrano @SheaSerrano
god loves tom brady so much smh

Cian Fahey @Cianaf
Refs applied the rule properly. Rules are dumb.

Seth Meyers @sethmeyers
Football is a brutal game but at least it’s decided by men in headsets deciding if a ball moved a little bit.

Pablo S. Torre @PabloTorre
No league snatches actual sports from the jaws of conversation like the NFL

Greg Jennings @GregJennings
How do these mindbogging, game saving plays only seem to happen for the @Patriots ???

Jason Romano @JasonRomano
Alexa, what is a catch?

Emmanuel Acho @thEMANacho
“It depends, when playing the #Patriots or #Packers all catches and non catches will be ruled in their favor”

Joel Embiid @JoelEmbiid
Steelers definitely got screwed.. Those rules don’t make sense

Ryan Shazier @RyanShazier
Man that’s some bull shit that was a catch man. I don’t give a damn what anyone say.  #NEvsPIT

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now out in theaters and so far it has grossed to $450 million dollars, that it is the 5th biggest worldwide opening for a film of all time. I don't plan on seeing the film myself, mainly because I would have to see the previous films that started back in the 1970s, but ever since the Walt Disney Company took over Lucasfilm five years ago, just as it has taken over 21st Century Fox last week, the Star Wars Franchise has become more intriguing than ever and The Last Jedi is proof of that. Next year, Lucasfilm will bring us Solo: A Star Wars Story on May 25, 2018, then on December 20, 2019, its the final film in this latest Star Wars Trilogy made by Disney, Episode IX, but until then, let's deal with how big The Last Jedi has become. The cast and crew of the film have been seen in many red carpet movie premieres and Web Choice has some of them in action in these two videos from the Star Wars YouTube Channel.
