Today's UPDATES
Last night was Judgement Day in the American League Wild Card game, what seemed like it was going to be a nightmare for the New York Yankees has become a dream come true. The Minnesota Twins and their best players in Brain Dozier and Eddie Rosario shot two big home runs against the Yankees' starting pitcher Luis Severino who left in the top of the 1st inning after he gave up two more base runners. What then happened in the bottom of the 1st inning change the entire complexion of the game, Didi Gregorius tied the game with a three run home run, after that, Brett Gardner broke the tie with a solo home run in the second inning allowing the Yankees to lead 4-3. In the third inning, both teams scored one run making 5-4 Yankees, but it was only in the fourth when the Yankees got the insurance runs they needed thanks to a two run blast by rookie Aaron Judge. With the help of their bullpen and offense, the Yankees closed out a 8-4 victory and have now punched their tickets to Cleveland for the ALDS against the Indians. Tonight, the National League Wild Card game will be one for the ages, we have the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies, two NL West teams as the Wild Cards and one of them will face another NL West in the NLDS, the Los Angeles Dodgers. So one of these three teams will move on to the NLCS and they've each have experience in the World Series. Max Sports will be on high alert for this and we'll have a full rundown of the NLWC game tomorrow, until then, here's an update om the games you need to know.

Yesterday, the NBA announced a new format for its All-Star Game, according to officials: "Two players will be named team captains and pick their own teammates of All-Stars, as if they were picking their squad on a playground. I think the idea of players choosing their own roster is very interesting, as their will be no more East vs West showdowns from this moment on, and we are most likely to see a mixture of East and West players on each side of the court come February. Fun Fact: everyone says that the Western Conference in the NBA is better than the Eastern Conference, but now we will see work together and play for charity in the All-Star. In other news, the Western Conference may be the better conference right now because during a preseason game last night, the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder showed off their new players. Carmelo Anthony, Paul George and Russell Westbrook worked well together and the Bug Three of Thunder, but in the end, it was the new dynamic duo of Chris Paul and James Harden that sealed the victory for the Rockets. The question every NBA fans' mind is what do they think about the new format to the All-Star Game? Do they like it or do they prefer the old format? We arre going to get to the bottom of this as it is today's #TwitterTrend.

Whoa. NBA All-Star game
going to captain’s pick. Captains will be top vote getter from each league.
They pick regardless of conference.

In this NBA All-Star
format, if LeBron is a captain, he can pick Kevin Durant. If Steph is a
captain, he can pick Kyrie Irving, as examples.

BIG changes for NBA
All-Star in 2018:
1. Team captains will
choose their own rosters (no more East vs West)
2. Teams will play for
charity

Will this change how
All-Stars are picked? Will the two "captains" pick the remaining
All-Stars?

Nope, the selection

Does this mean best 24
are voted? IE probably 16 from west, 8
from east?

According to the NBA's
release, it's still 5 starters and 5 starters per conference, 12 and 12 the
total split between East/West. The captains pick from those pools (starters,
then reserves). So it's still screwed up, just less so.
I've tried my best to avoid speaking about the Las Vegas Shooting and now I feel I've done that successfully. I wanted to speak about something lighter this morning as the details coming in from Las Vegas are overwhelming. People have spoke online about the attacks they they all agree with me when I say that the madness has to stop, it has to. To continue on the lighter stories, Web Choice has run into DSNY Newscast hosted by internet host Jack Kendall who has posted two videos on Walt Disney World Resort's theme parks, this past weekend was the 35th Anniversary of Epcot which debuted as Walt Disney World's second theme park on October 1st, 1982. According to Jack, there maybe rumors of a new attraction based on the upcoming Disney/Pixar Mexican film Coco and it was somewhat confirmed the Guardians of the Galaxy E-ticket attraction coming to Epcot in 2021 will indeed be a roller coaster. With the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World coming in 2012, each of the four theme parks will have launched a new attraction by then, Hollywood Studios will have Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Magic Kingdom getting a Tron Lifecycle roller coaster, the Animal Kingdom just launched the World of Avatar earlier this year, and Epcot will have gone through a major revamped for the next 4-5 years. Here are the two videos I was talking about with the second one having a special message from DSNY host Jack Kendall.
