Today's Updates, September 11th, 2017

We will discuss this day of remembrance as well as the events of Hurricane Irma, but first to soften the mood, we deal with the drama in the Season Opener of the National Football League yesterday. Max Sports has all twelve game results and they're not so good for some teams that lost, but it's just the season opener right, there will be other games to play later on. There are two Monday Night Football games happening tonight as a doubleheader on ESPN, the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings will start it off in U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the home of Super Bowl LII. Then, the Chargers will play their first regular season game as part the Los Angeles community against the team with by far the toughest schedule this season, the Denver Broncos. Now as for what's happening in baseball, we have our first MLB team to have clinched a playoff berth and their division, it came in the form of the Washington Nationals who have won the National League East title for the second straight year. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Indians are in a eighteen game winning streak and storming past the competition in the American League, you wonder if the Tribe can bring the city of Cleveland its second World Championship after Cavaliers did it last year. We'll find out who else is eligible to clinched a spot in the postseason as we wine down the days of the regular season.

Hurricane Irma has done a great deal of damage to most of the state Florida, leaving millions without power, on the bright side it has become more a tropical storm. But nothing can change the fact that irma's presence has affected so many innocent lives and families and this was just as worst as Harvey in Texas. One person has said out on twitter that we have come together for both Harvey and Irma and with today being 9/11, we cannot forget the lives that were taken from us sixteen years ago. Currently with winds of 70 mph, Irma is expected to weaken further as it continues to move inland, according to the National Hurricane Center, it has also become the most intense hurricane to strike the United States since Katrina in 2005, so that just takes the cake. As of yesterday, the storm has caused at least twenty-nine deaths, some in Anguilla, Barbados, Barbuda, the French West Indies, Puerto Rico, the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, the United States, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. I'm no weather expert but I would like for everyone to know how much this storm is affecting people lives in the lower right part of the United States, many theme parks in Florida such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Sea World Orlando and Legoland Florida were closed down for the weekend but it doesn't seem that any damage was caused at any of those parks. Some people have pulled together to help others and what they're is remarkable and they should keep up the good work. Every news channel is talking about the storm and Web Choice shares their stories of Hurricane Irma with you the readers.

Hurricane Irma: Destruction in Florida

Inside the eye of Hurricane Irma

Finally, our #TwitterTrend is about Remembering the terrible attacks on September 11th, 2001, a day of infamousy. Since that awful, we have gone back time and time again thinking the the thousands lives that were lost when two planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, another plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and another crashed landed somewhere in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. What frightened people the most that day was when the two towers in New York City collapse in such spectacular fashion, being a young boy in 2001, I honestly understand what was going on at the time, but once you get older, you realized that the day of 9/11 has affected the entire world. There have been many terror attacks since then, the most recent one for the United States was the Orlando night club shooting last year, I still think about that night when about fifty lives were taken by one shooter and I also think about the attacks in Paris, Brussels, and Manchester, the people who lived there have been saddened by those events ever since. But today is about what America is going through as this day does not get any easier every single year, we can all pray for all the men, women, children and other victims and pay tribute to the heroes who fought their way through the attacks and those who are fighting for our country right now. To end the post, we have the best tweets from twitter showing tweeters nothing but their love and support for one another.
