Today's UPDATES

Boy what a night, the Emmys were outstanding with lots of diversity going on in last night's award ceremony. The top two teams in the American League this pat weekend were awarded for their excellence, playing on a level that most teams can't catch up with. In Max Sports' continuing coverage of the MLB Playoff Picture, we now know that the Cleveland Indians, after winning twenty-two straight games and then had their hot streak snapped last Friday, are going to the postseason as the American League Central Division Champions. This is the second straight year that the Indians have their own division and the biggest question now is "Can can the Indians repeat in World Series appearances?" and "Can they bring home the City of Cleveland a second World Championship after the Cavs did it last year?". Meanwhile, things are looking up for the Houston Astros who still send their support and love for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, I once said that it would be a dream come true if they brought home the World Championship to honor Harvey's victims, the Astros first step to achieve started when the won the American League West Division Title. Keep in mind, this is the Astros' first division title as members of the American League and their first since 2001, back when they were apart of the National League. With two weeks left in the MLB season, who could be next to do some clinching, we'll find out soon starting this week.

Today, for our #TwitterTrend, we acknowledge a really terrible lost. WWE Hall of Famer and legendary manager and announcer Bobby "The Brain" Heenan passed away yesterday at the age of 73 due to unknown reasons at the moment. Mr. Heenan was always a fan favorite where ever he went, whether people loved of hated him, it didn't matter at all, and he spoke a volume that no else had before. I don't know much about Heenan, but I remember watching a video of the very first episode of WWE Monday Night Raw at the Manhattan Center in New York CIty. Heenan tried everything he could to get into the arena and was stopped every time, the segment was really funny and it would lead to a thousand plus more episodes of Monday Night Raw, and I am blessed to have kept watching the flagship program of the WWE for the better part of eleven years. According to a few WWE superstars and legends, "No one ever did it better than the Weasel", that he was "The Greatest Manager, one of The Greatest Announcers, and One of The Best In-Ring Performers in the History of the Business". These comments were well put by Jim Ross and Ric Flair respectively and they knew Bobby Heenan by heart and they are saddened to see a very good friend go. It is always sad to hear that a WWE Legend has passed away, but this one seems to be one of the saddest moments in WWE history.

On to the Primetime Emmy Awards, and what a show it was with host Stephen Colbert starting things off with a big musical number and a surprise appearance by Sean Spicer. Colbert gave bit of a political monologue  about Donald Trump but this time gave a good explanation as to why the president did not get at least a Emmy nomination back when his show The Apprentice was on the air. Colbert also had a drink with Jimmy Kimmel after they both did not win a single award last night having lost to John Oliver's Last Week Tonight which won back to back awards in the same categories that he won last year: Outstanding Variety Talk Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Also, Lena Waithe won Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series with Aziz Ansari for their work on Master of None, and Donald Glover became first African-American to win Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. Saturday Night Live won four awards, one for Outstanding Variety SKetch Series and three in Outstanding Directing, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress, all of which went to Don Roy King, Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon respectively. Little Big Lies won a total of five awards all of which for being outstanding as a Limited Series. This is Us star Sterling K. Brown outshined everyone with his win in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Riz Ahmed won Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. All and All it was a good night for the best in television, to get backstage info on the Emmys, Web Choice has traveled to the Television Academy's YouTube Channel and has full reactions to some of the winners.
