Today's UPDATES

There's so much talk about today and not much time to cover it all, so I will have to find a way to make it all work for the rest of the week. My York College program is this Saturday and I have to prepare for that, meanwhile, some of your favorite MLB teams are preparing for postseason action. Max Sports has been fast tracking the standings, with just a couple of weeks left in the MLB season, what else has progressed. The Cleveland Indians have now won twenty games in a row, tying the longest winning streak for an American League team with the 2002 Oakland Athletics. Plus, the Los Angeles Dodgers finally clinched a playoff berth after losing eleven straight games, well that's just wow, they still have a greater chance at clinching the National League West Division if they can go on a hot win streak of their own again. In other news, female Japanese Kairi Sane overcame all the odds against Shayna Baszler to win the WWE Mae Young Classic last night in Las Vegas. I've been following this tournament and I must say it speaks the same volume as the Cruiserweight Classic from last year and now big tings could be ahead for Kairi Sane and I'm sure we'll see her again real soon.

Tell me, does anyone know who Bernie Sanders is? I hear he's really famous these days. Mr. Sanders is a politician who has been the United States Senator from Vermont since 2007, so his tenure is ten years old. He ran for US President last year and was in a heated battle with then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton only to come up a little short. Berine Sanders has been a fan favorite Democrat and he's the subject to Today's #TwitterTrend, early this morning, the Vermont Senator announced that he was planning to introduced a new health care legislation that proposes moving the United States to a single-payer health care system. Now this idea comes for the Democratic Party not the Republicans, who as usual failed to repeal and and replace Obamacare this past summer. The bill has been backed by fifteen Democratic Senate co-sponsors, some of which could run against Trump for President in 2020, the senators backing up the bill are Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, Al Franken, Jeff Merkley, Tammy Baldwin and Brian Schatz. According to the Huffington Post: "The plan calls for an overhaul of American health insurance with a souped-up, more generous version of Medicare replacing nearly all private health insurance ― and government exerting far more control over the cost of medical care." I wonder if they could get this bill into office and shut up all the talk about health care once and for all, because that's what the bill is called "The Medicare for All Act". For more we turn to a couple of tweets from people who seemed to have their own opinions to  this.

I'm very proud to be introducing the Medicare for All Act today, which has 15 co-sponsors in the Senate, a record level of support.

Sanders will introduce his Medicare for All bill today with a quarter of Senate Democrats supporting. http://www.thedailybeast.com/bernie-sanders-is-still-not-a-democrat-hes-just-the-partys-maestro

The list of 15 co-sponsors on the new Sanders bill reads like a who's who in Democratic politics. W @danielmarans http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bernie-sanders-single-payer-bill-major-support-senate_us_59b87dc1e4b02da0e13d465f

Only 1 of the 15 co-sponsors of Sanders' bill is from a state Trump won in '16 -- WI's Baldwin. And she's up for re-election in 2018

There's a topic that I'm most interested in and I need to talk about it now before it's to late. For Web Choice, I want to discuss are the Emmys, this past weekend was the Creative Arts Award ceremony and these are for Emmy awards that are not on the main primetime show for this sunday hosted by Stephen Colbert on CBS. The Creative Arts awards are in a class in recognition of  technical and other similar achievements in American television programming and includes awards for outstanding animated programs, outstanding commercial, and guest acting. The ceremony was held for two straight nights on September 9th and 10th and will be broadcast this Saturday on FXX network, that is where you will see people like Dave Chappelle, Melissa McCarthy, Seth MacFarlane and Jane Lynch received awards in acting, plus The Daily Show with Trevor Noah won Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for its Between the Scenes videos, so I am very proud that The Daily Show could get an award in the only category it was nominated in. Plus, James Corden's Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special won Outstanding Variety Special, Samantha Bee's Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner won Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and Last Week Tonight is the winner for Outstanding Interactive Program. So now we move to this Sunday where all bets are off and the stars come out for a LIVE event unlike any other, here is bit of recap of some of the awards set to be given out.
