I'm in a quick hurry today thanks to a other job I have to do today, so I went as fast as I could to write this post for you and I wasn't sure if I got everything in on time. MaxSports is noting that the MLB Trade Deadline today and ends at 4PM Eastern. Teams are making last minutes to make a deal with each other, the Cubs acquired Justin Wilson and Alex Avila from the Tigers in exchange for Jeimer Candelario and Isaac Paredes, plus, Jaime García has gone from the Braves to the Twins to the Yankees, and the Rockies land 2 Time All Jonathan Lucroy from the Rangers. In a New York Times interview sometime yesterday, Chris McCarthy, the President of MTV, VH1 and Logo announced big pans for the Music Television Channel, and it's the subject of today's #TwitterTrend topic. He explained how the network was bringing back the M in MTV again, starting with the Video Music Awards which will be hosted by Katy Perry this August 27th, the trophy statue at VMAs will be renamed from "Moonman" to "Moon Person". McCarthy said that “It could be a man, it could be a woman, it could be transgender, it could be nonconformist.”, this goes to show how MTV wants to make its awards shows gender free having taken away gender award categories from the VMAs and Movie & TV Awards from last May. This is where it gets real good, McCarthy announced that Total Request Live is coming back this October and will broadcast from the new and improved MTV Times Square Studio in New York City, one can only imagine what it will look when its twice its size. Original TRL host Carlson Daly will not return to host the show, instead there will be five different VJs as co-hosts including DC Young Fly and Erik Zachary, also, the show will start off an hourlong daily but could develop up to two or three hours a day and will feature unique content for Instagram, Snapchat and other social media channels, now that's a great a idea for anyone who uses Twitter and Facebook. I can't wait to see TRL make a comeback so we can relieve our childhood in the early 2000s when music on live television was so popular and it means that I can cut away from all the politics I've been listen to on cable news. I want to point out straight away that MTV attempted to bring TRL back with Ariana Grande special titled "Total Ariana Live" back in 2014 and than another special last year called "Total Registration Live", it was to encourage young adults to register and vote for the 2016 Election. Some might be wonder if the network will go to these concept again for the next big election, say next year for the 2018 Midterms. All I know is that this rebooted verison TRL will allowed a new generation of people to experience what others have in the past.
