Today's UPDATES

It's Tuesday and do you know what that means? Anything can happen in the blink of a eye. Any news stories can break out in an instant, people could be having a good or a bad day or a bit of both. As we are midway through the summer, it should be noted that some MLB teams are trade deadline mode, as they continue play their games, they must deal with the fact they fight lose their best players and might gain new ones in the progress. WWE SummerSlam weekend is looking good with NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III on August 19th, SummerSlam on August 20th, and Raw and SmackDown  on the 21st and 22nd respectively. Before all that, Marvel's The Defenders will be released on Netflix on August 18th, so I'm going to have a full schedule during the week of SummerSlam. MaxSports will be covering SummerSlam next month, but first let's see how the match card is shaping up and what's been going on with MLB teams.

We all know by now that Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson will premiere in theaters on March 8, 2019. During San Diego Comic-Con, we got some new information on this upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and why is it so important. Concept art revealed what Larson's suit in the movie will look like and the she will be soaring through the air during the 1990s. The film will be loosely based on the Kree-Skrulls War storyline from the Marvel Comics as the concept art showed Larson's character fighting the Skrulls, they have been an enemy to many Marvel Heroes and can shapeshift into any person they choose to be, so it will be interesting how they will come into play in Captain Marvel. The idea to set the movie in the 90s is awesome and it gives us a world of possibilities since it's right between the two Avengers films being produce as we speak. People have expressed their theories on how these new details will all impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe it's up to #TwitterTrend to round up the best ideas as of late.

Setting Captain Marvel in the '90s hints at how much she matters

Jon @ColdZero2006
Captain marvel being set in the 90's makes sense, my theory, hot shot USAF pilot Carol Danvers recruited into shield by Nick fury ...

v @deadftpool
I mean Peggy Carter has to be in Captain Marvel right? Since Nick Fury is there, there will be Shield's involvement. Also its in the 90s.

Talia @ColorNat
Skrulls are shapeshifting aliens that can also take on the powers, abilities, and memories of the people they pose as

TONY IM SORRY @hiinome
i heard that captain marvel is set 1990s with skrulls  SO DOES THAT MEAN BEARDED STEVE IN INFINITY WAR IS THE REAL STEVE ALL ALONG?

Kevin Ketchum @Kevin_Ketchum
Working theory on Captain Marvel: setting her film in 90s to set up Skrulls to be big bad, & her to be Avengers leader after Infinity War.

Jay Annelli @jay13x
So if Captain Marvel fought the Skrulls in the 90's... we're totally going to get a Secret Invasion arc in some future film, right?

Skrulls in the MCU! "Untitled" Avengers 4! Who thinks the title of that one will be Avengers: Secret Invasion???

After Walt Disney World Resort announced its plans before its 50th Anniversary at D23 Expo, Universal Orlando Resort was able to strike back yesterday with the announcement of a new coaster experience coming to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Fan favorite roller coaster Dragon Challenge will closing down on September 5th, but will riders will have one last chance to get on it until September 4th which is Labor Day. This inverted dueling coaster attraction has been part of Universal Orlando since it debut in 1999 along with the rest of Islands of Adventure, it was called Dueling Dragons back then and was part of The Lost Continent area in the park. Fast forward to 2010 when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade, it was rethemed as Dragon Challenge and has gone through a few changes over the years due to some issues. The new coaster experience will open in 2019, the same year Islands of Adventure would celebrate its 20th Anniversary and also the same year Disney opens Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at its two theme parks on both sides of the US (Anaheim and Orlando). Universal has said that the new thrill ride will take riders deeper into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where  they'll encounter some of their favorite characters and creatures, and  will be one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences that the Universal Creative team has done.
