#TwitterTrend has been about one thing: Trending Topics on Twitter, it's been all about the hashtags, the social media drama, the comments that tweeters leave behind. While I was up last night, learn of something so stunning you could say that I was in disbelief. I was on the Deadline.com and that's where I discovered that Comedy Central was planning to cancel @Midnight with Chris Hardwick. This late night panel game show has pitted three guests against one another in various improvisational contests for which they'll receive Points and the winner at the end of the show is declared to have won the internet for next 23 and a half hours. I wasn't into @midnight at the time starting watching late nights on Comedy Central, but now I feel the to watch the series finale which as been set for Friday August 4th and as the show's 600th episode. Since its debut on October 21, 2013, the show became known for its use of social media, specifically its nightly hashtag war which frequently trended on Twitter and now after four seasons it's time for one last hashtag war for Chris Hardwick. The creator and executive producer of @midnight has been known voicing a snake in Nickelodeon's Sanjay and Craig, hosted many of AMC's Talking shows, and is now doing work with NBC with shows like The Wall and The Awesome Show. Comedy Central president Kent Alterman met with Chris Hardwick and they have mutually agreed that it's time to end the show and this just adds another string bad luck to the cable network's late night lineup after Stephen Colbert left in December 2014, then Jon Stewart in August 2015, and last August 2016 with Larry Wilmore. Comedy Central will look to revamp its lineup with Trevor Noah doing much better and Jordan Klepper's show premiering in the fall. So what does the internet have to say about the cancellation of @midnight, let's find out!
