Today's UPDATES

What a rough day it was yesterday, I wasn't feeling so well when I was writing the D23 Expo Post, I was coughing and have a stuffy nose but it's started to feel a little bit better. Boy oh boy, wasn't the Expo a hit this past weekend, we learned so much about the future projects at The Walt Disney Company, from Animation to Movies and Park Attractions. This Thursday, it's the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con and we are promised something really big, bigger than what transpired at the Expo, but we;ll get into that at a later date. Right now let's talk MaxSports, last week I said we would discuss the WWE Mae Young Classic which is set to premiere next month in August. Thirty-two women from all over the world will compete in a tournament that could very predict the future of Women's Wrestling. As you probably know from last Thursday, WWE held the Mae Young Classic: Parade of Champions on YouTube and Facebook, it was a pre-tournament event that streamed live and when you look at each women in the tournament very carefully in the video, you can see that each of them bring their own charisma  to the event. This Sunday, the superstars of the SmackDown Live roster will bring a whole lot of charisma to WWE Battleground, which as you probably already guessed is going to be a Battleground no matter what. Before all of this, see the MLB results from this past weekend and the names of the competitors in the Mae Young Classic.

Last Thursday was the announcement of the 2017 Primetime Emmy Nominations, and what the nominations have teached me is that any one can be anyone can be nominated. You wouldn't believe how may networks and TV Shows are nominated for that little Emmy Award, check out these stats: HBO has 110 nominates, Netflix has 91, NBC scored 80, the FX Networks has 53 and ABC has 34. Saturday Night Live and Westworld are tied with 22 nominations, FEUD: Bette and Joan and Stranger Things are tied with 18 nominations, Veep has 17 nominations, Big Little Lies and Fargo are tied with 16, and tied with 13 are The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale and The Night of. The one category that is really getting to me is the Outstanding Short Form Variety Series where The Daily SHow with Trevor Noah was nominated for just that category. I was hoping that Trevor Noah would pull through and get a nomination in Variety Talk Series of Writing or Directing for A Variety Series, this show deserves better than Outstanding Short, but there's always next year. Meanwhile, those who were nominated for Variety Talk Show were Full Frontal, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Week Tonight, The Late Late Show,The Late Show, and Real Time, and Late Night with Seth Meyers got a nomination in Writing for Variety Series, you would you know. So all and all, looks like we have something to excited about come  September 17th. #TwitterTrend has been following these stories very carefully and getting other people's reactions to them, as usual.

For our WebChoice topic for today, how about some leftovers from the D23 Expo. We have received an gorgeous trailer for Disney's new film A Wrinkle in Time starring Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon,  I had forgot to mention yesterday that Disney would be adding more ships to its Cruise Lines, and in addition to the new and improve Mission: Space at Epcot, a brand-new restaurant will be adjacent to the attraction. Plus, The new Spider-Man series on Disney XD will appear August 19th, the third season of the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will be subtitled "Mission: Breakout" and it will be based on the same attraction at Disney California Adventure, and filmmaker Leonard Maltin hosted a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Disney Legends Awards ceremony on Friday to honor every Disney Legends from past and present. Now it has been rumored that the details and concept art for the upcoming Marvel Land at DCA will be revealed during the Marvel Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, it would be a good idea to do that seeing how Marvel plans to blow the roof off Comic-Con like never before. Here's a look at the Wrinkle in Time trailer that will leave you stunned and and other Disney news you may be interested in from DSNY Newscast, my new favorite YouTube Channel.
