This post doesn't just have one #TwitterTrend today, it has two. First up was the bizarre ending to the Oscars last night which has left us all saying "What the H just happened?" Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway came out on onstage to present the award for Best Picture and announced that the apparent winner was La La Land, much to my disappointment. But then all of a sudden, as the cast and crew of La La Land were accepting the award, Producers Fred Berger and Jordan Horowitz learned that there had a been a mixup with the envelopes containing the winners of each awards and Warren Betty was given the  that revealed the winner for Best Actress which was won by Emma Stone. The real winner of Best Picture was Moonlight and it was confirmed after Horowitz presented the correct card to the camera as proof, and Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel said it verbally. So the cast and crew of Moonlight went up onstage to accept their third award of the night after having won Best Adapted Screenplay and Mahershala Ali winning Best Supporting Actor. Also, La La Land won six awards, Hacksaw Ridge and Manchester by the Sea won two, Viola Davis won Best Supporting Actress, other winners were Arrival, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Jungle Book, O.J.: Made in America, Zootopia and even Suicide Squad. In one way to describe the Oscars, this hashtag on Twitter is a good example, #evelopgate, check out the tweets.

On to the second #TwitterTrend, and this one is a bit political, we all know how badly the Democrats loss in the 2016 Election last November. It was highlighted with Hillary Clinton's loss to Donald Trump and Democrats losing many seats in Senate and House, leaving Republicans in power of the White House and Congress. The big question on everyone's mind is how can Democrats recover from such a stunning turn of events, well it starts with electing a new Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Over this past weekend, Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Tom Perez was elected as the Chairman and he made it perfectly clear that Democrats will be in rebuilding from here on in, now I'm interesting just how will the Democrats get their act back together as they have four years to stop Trump from doing something that could really hurt America. They have the midterm elections coming up next year in 2018 and before long the Democrats will have to have a perfect nominee for president when facing Trump in re-election in 2020. Tom Perez, the first Latino to lead the DNC, announced after winning the chairmanship that he will make runner-up Keith Ellison, a U.S. Representative from Minnesota, his deputy chair and they both agreed that they're going to resist against Trump. For more on this story, here a few tweets from the Democratic Party's twitter account explaining their plans for the future.
